Including Screw-operated Means To Move Hinged Members Patents (Class 16/238)
  • Patent number: 10329819
Abstract: A gate has an adjustable spring hinge with an L-shaped member joining a first bracket to a second bracket by a rotatable bolt that extends through the L-shaped member and threadingly engages a sleeve. One end of the L-shaped member is coupled to the adjustable spring hinge, which is coupled to one of the two brackets. The other of the two brackets includes the sleeve that engages a threaded shaft of the bolt. Thus, a gap width between the first bracket and the second bracket is adjusted by rotating the bolt in a first direction or a second direction, opposite of the first direction.

A hinge bracket of the door supporting device of the present invention includes a fixing portion fixed to a front face of the refrigerator, and a supporting portion extending forward from an upper end of the fixing portion and having a threaded hole with threads formed on an inner periphery thereof. A hinge shaft of the door supporting device has threads on an outer periphery thereof and is threadly engaged with the threaded hole so that the hinge shaft can be supported by the hinge bracket. An upper end of the hinge shaft rotatably supports the door. The height of the door can be adjusted by rotating the hinge shaft. A nut is threadly engaged with the hinge shaft below the hinge bracket. The nut prevents the hinge shaft from being rotated so that the door can be constantly maintained at a predetermined height.

Abstract: A concealed door hinge has first and second leaf assemblies fittable into respective mortises in an edge of the door and in the door frame. The first leaf assembly has a body, mounting tabs at ends of the body and securable to the door frame or to an edge of the door, and an insert shiftable in the body in a first horizontal direction perpendicular to a face of the assembly. The body is also shiftable relative to the tabs in a second horizontal direction transverse to the horizontal direction and parallel to the face. A swivel mechanism is connected between the second leaf assembly and the insert of the assembly. Adjusters engaged between the insert, the body, and the tabs can relatively secure the insert and body in any of a plurality of positions offset relative to one another in the horizontal directions.

Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a compact hinge capable of a vertical, a horizontal, and an overlay adjustment, comprised of a cup portion and a hinge arm with one end pivotably connected to the cup portion and the other end slideably connected to a fastener plate. The fastener plate further comprises a first semi-planar surface for contact with a cabinet frame and a second semi-planar surface for slideable engagement with the hinge arm to accomplish the horizontal adjustment. The first and second semi-planar surfaces are interconnected by a deformable hinge section that allows for an elastically resilient connection at one end and an adjusting screw at the other end for a horizontally arcing movement relative to each resulting in an overlay adjustment. The fastener plate further comprises an elongated aperture in the first semi-planar surface through which the vertical adjustment is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 7603746
Abstract: A three-way adjustable butt hinge for a door is adjusted vertically in a door frame by inserting an allen wrench in a vertical adjustment screw at the top of the hinge pin. Turning the wrench moves the screw in either direction, pushes on the hinge pin and raises or lowers the door as necessary. A pin has an eccentric shaft with upper and lower sections offset on parallel axes. Lateral adjustments are effected by loosening a side-mounted set screw and turning the eccentric shaft as necessary to move the door either in or out or side to side in the frame. The lateral set screw holds the hinge pin integral with the sash hinge. The door is removed from the frame by simply lifting the door sash hinge and pin from the complementary pin receiver on the frame hinge.
