Abstract: A roofing debris collection apparatus having one or more gutter liners constructed to fit in an interior of a gutter to collect roofing debris; one or more debris chute drapes; and one or more drape support poles to maintain the debris chute drapes in a vertical angled orientation adjacent the gutter to guide roofing debris from a roof to the ground. Roofing debris accumulates in the gutter liners or falls off the roof on to the debris chute drapes and slides from the debris chute drapes onto the ground or onto a debris collecting ground tarp. The roofing debris is collected and removed by collecting the gutter liners from the gutter and gathering the debris collecting ground tarp from the ground. The roofing debris collection apparatus allows for rapid collection and removal of roofing debris and protects the sides of a building from any damage that might be caused by the collection of roofing debris.

  • Patent number: 5774935
Abstract: A hinge for joining and aligning two panels includes hinge leaves, each having an integral projection for insertion into a recess in one of the panels. Each of the leaf projections is disposed along an imaginary right circular cylinder having its center axis intersecting the hinge axis and the center axis of the imaginary cylinder of the other leaf projection. When the leaves are positioned in parallel, opposing relationship, the axes of the imaginary cylinders are coincident and the alignment of the hinge axis can be adjusted by rotating the hinge when it is inserted into hinge-mounting recesses that allow for such hinge rotation, such as arcuate. A hinged panel assembly includes the hinge mounted in arcuate grooves that allow for hinge rotation, such as semicircular grooves. The semicircular grooves are formed by clamping the panels together in alignment and cutting a substantially circular groove that is bisected by the joint between the panels.

  • Patent number: 5577297
Abstract: A door fastening member of a furniture hinge having a hinge cup for installation sunk in a recess in the rear surface of a door leaf. The hinge cup has a fastening flange engaging the inner surface of the door leaf. Projecting from the underside of the fastening flange, spaced from the hinge cup, are offset fastening pegs which engage in associated bores in the door leaf and which may each be fixed in the associated bore by means of a fastening element which is rotatable relative to the fastening flange.Due to eccentric mounting of the rotatable fastening element, knife-like anchoring ribs provided on the fastening element of the fastening peg are movable out of a position of the bores.

  • Patent number: 5561888
Abstract: A furniture hinge (10) with a carcase-related part (12) which can be fastened adjustably on the carcase of a furniture piece, which is coupled to a door-related part by a linkage mechanism, and which is configured as a hinge cup (14) of metal. The cup part (18) of the hinge cup (14) can be mounted sunken in a mortise in the door and has a flange (20) lying on the inside of the door and projecting from the edge of the cup part. From the bottom of the flange protrude at least one, and preferably two, studs (32) provided with a number of anchoring ribs of pointed cross section, which can be mounted in associated, separate holes in the door. The stud (32) or studs are made expandable by a screw (30) in the manner of an expansion plug and are premounted on the flange by means of the screw being driven in only partially.

  • Patent number: 5406677
Abstract: A press-fit hinge cup for a hinge is anchored in a recess in a furniture portion, preferably in a door portion, and the anchoring means consists of tabs which project radially outwardly from the side wall of the hinge cup into the material of the peripheral wall of the recess of the furniture portion. In order to avoid excessive weakening of the material of the peripheral wall of the furniture portion and to ensure secure fitting of the hinge cup in the furniture portion respective upper or distal edges of the tabs are located at different distances from the base of the hinge cup relative to each other. As a result these tabs engage in the peripheral wall of the furniture portion along different contour lines in the recess. Additional splay tabs defined by slits positioned substantially perpendicularly to the hinge cup's base and pressed outwardly into the peripheral wall of the recess may be provided. The splay tabs provide additional resistance to twisting of the hinge cup in the recess.

  • Patent number: 5371924
Abstract: A hinge for use with a picture frame and a set-up base, includes first and second hinge leaves, each hinge leaf having claws, the claws of the first hinge leaf for fastening the first hinge leaf to a picture frame and the claws of the second hinge leaf for fastening the second hinge leaf to a set-up base. A hinge joint is disposed at first ends of the hinge leaves, configured of knuckles through which a hinge wire passes for connecting the first and second hinge leaves to one another. A connecting web is movably articulated to the first hinge leaf at an end edge of the first hinge leaf opposite the hinge joint. When the hinge is in an opened position, the connecting web is arranged at an angle to the first hinge leaf and is supported on the second hinge leaf. When the hinge is in a closed position, the connecting web is pivoted into a position essentially parallel to the first hinge leaf.

  • Patent number: 4832388
Abstract: One of the most popular ways of gaining access to a locked premise is through forced entry of a door assembly. Presented is a door assembly incorporating a system of components cooperating in a door assembly to increase resistance to forced entry through such door assembly. Forced entry is generally defined as being an unauthorized entry accomplished by the use of force upon the physical components of the premises, generally doors and windows, and usually exterior entry doors. Such forced entry usually takes the form of battering on the door adjacent to the door lock assembly, or adjacent to the center hinge of the door, usually applied by one or more solid kicks delivered to the door.
