  • Patent number: 7669291
Abstract: The invention is a pot holder that will insulate the hand from heat, have adequate friction for holding, and be readily available and usable with one hand. The holder or handgrip of the invention comprises an elastomer sheet such as silicone rubber with a small permanent magnet affixed adjacent one edge. The magnet has sufficient attractive force to support the holder in place against a ferromagnetic surface such as the vertical side of a refrigerator or microwave oven, for example. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, a small piece of ferromagnetic material may be affixed to an opposite edge of the sheet to removably attach to the magnet on the opposite edge to thereby form the sheet into a tube that may be used to removably attach to a handle. The sheet may have one or both broad surfaces provided with a texture to enhance friction to provide a non-slip surface. The sheet has sufficient insulating properties to protect a hand from a hot handle.

  • Patent number: 7000963
Abstract: A disposable holder for use with urine specimen collection cups has a cup grasping extension incorporated and molded into it. The elongated extension is formed within a recess defined within the overall holder. The holder may be held firmly with one hand and the grasping extension actuated with the other hand. The holder is configured to be held and operated by right and left handed persons. In use, the cup grasping portion of the holder is urged downwardly onto a portion of the perimeter of a cup edge. The specimen is firmly grasped thereby. Upon collection of the specimen, the extension is urged toward the handle so as to open cooperating and opposing cup holding members. In this fashion, the specimen cup and collected specimen are released and the holder is disposed of.

  • Patent number: 6944911
Abstract: A Balance Handle includes two types of handle grips, A type having braided rope approximately five and one-half inches long inserted and centered within a length of comparable diameter tubular nylon webbing and B type, a commonly available product consisting of approximately six inch length of heavy rubber tubing inserted and centered within a length of comparable tubular nylon webbing covered with a molded, non-marking rubber sleeve. Two case clamps are stainless steel worm gear clamps, each cut to a length slightly longer than the diameter of a tubular fishing rod case and sheathed in comparably sized tubular nylon webbing of a length approximately one inch shorter than the diameter of the tubular fishing rod case. Both A type and B type handle grip ends are void of rope or tubing and thus flat, enabling them to be cut to a length at least long enough to fit under, up, and over the worm gear housing of the case clamp. Each end of both A type and B type handle grip is squarely melted forming a small T shape.

  • Patent number: 6839940
Abstract: A molded thermoplastic mug handle cover clips to handle of mugs and other beverage containers, identifies the mug from other identical mugs, and is used for the purpose of advertising, branding, and mug distinction. The mug handle cover is a three-sided arcuate piece that is concave and arcuate. The two sides of the mug handle cover expand over the outer front surface width of the mug handle and retract to shape when the cover's side edges reach the interior side edge of the mug handle. At the outer edges of the interior of the two sides, a set of small half cone protrusions build in height from half way to the interior of the top to the outer edge of the sides and enable the mug handle cover to grip multiple sized mug handles.
