Abstract: A toilet seat handle device for attachment to a toilet seat as an aid to raising and lowering the toilet seat without having to actually touch the toilet seat. The handle is attached at one of its ends to the toilet seat and projects outwardly beyond the periphery thereof.

Abstract: A lightweight strap with a handle at one end of the strap for grasping and a heavy duty hook snap and "D" ring configuration at the other end. The snap hook to be inserted through a handle or other aperture in a tractor trailer door and snapped to the "D" ring. The length of the strap being sufficient so as to permit an individual to grasp the strap through the handle portion when the tractor trailer door is open and pull upon the strap thereby pulling the door down in a safe and conscientious manner.

Abstract: Disclosed is a grip-enhancing device for a shaft handle which includes a grip portion generally coaxial with the shaft and sized to be grasped generally around its longitudinal axis by the palm and fingers of a user's hand. The grip-enhancing improvement comprises a rigid first portion extending substantially radially outwardly from the grip portion and presenting a surface positioned to bear against an edge of the user's hand. The surface has a cross-section which is spaced radially from and extends obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the grip portion. A rigid second portion extends from the first portion in a direction oblique to the longitudinal axis of the grip portion and toward the user's wrist. The grip portion, the first portion and the second portion define a gap in which the user's hand is partially captured, thereby preventing axial and lateral slipping of the hand from the handle and reducing fatigue to the user.

Abstract: A toilet seat lifting aid includes a circular lifting element which projects outwardly in a horizontal direction laterally away from the seat so that the seat can be raised or lowered without directly touching the same. The lifting element is connected to a support which, in turn, carries a quantity of pressure-sensitive adhesive for quick installation of the lifting element to a peripheral, bottom side portion of the seat. In preferred forms, the lifting element has a smoothly rounded outer edge and is pivotally interconnected with the support for rotation relative to the seat when accidentally brushed against by the user's legs in order to avoid abrasion of the skin.

Abstract: The hand tool has an interchangeable handle member with a particular coupling mechanism. The tool comprises a tool member fixedly disposed at one end of a ferrule member having a socket portion open to receive the tool end section of the handle member. The handle member includes the tool end section at one end thereof and a hand gripping section toward the other end thereof. The tool end section is elongate and extends into the socket portion and includes an outer surface having an inner end and an outer end. A shock absorbing mechanism is located intermediate the inner and outer ends of the tool end section along the outer surface thereof. The shock absorbing mechanism is effective to provide a tightened fit between the ferrule member and the tool end section when the ferrule member is slidingly displaced over the outer surface of the tool end section.

Abstract: A cushioned handle structure for use in personal care appliances including two plastic understructure halves having outer and inner surfaces, each half having a plurality of holes running between the two surfaces. An elastomeric material is integrally formed as an overlay in contact with the outer surface and is integrally continued as plugs in the holes so that the overlay is held in position in contact with the outer surface by the plugs. The holes may be undercut proximate to the inner surfaces or be continued as channels on the inner surfaces to provide greater integrity.

Abstract: A knob mounts on one end of a shaft whose other end guides a slidable element, such as the wiper of a slide potentiometer. The shaft has an elongated cross section, and the knob has a pair of generally parallel raised ribs on each of two facing interior sides. The ribs guide and secure the shaft into the knob. If the knob is twisted rather than slid, the knob comes off, but any deformation of the ribs and/or shaft is minimal and does not prevent the knob and shaft from being reused. The knob is particularly adapted for use with a notched, split shaft.

Abstract: The support member underlying the door outer panel has coaxially aligned apertures formed in spaced apart walls thereof. First and second telescopically engaged axle members molded of plastic have integral axle spindles projecting from the ends thereof. A spring acts between the axle members to permit axial contraction of the axle members relative one another so that the axle spindles may be inserted between the spaced apart aperture panel walls. The spring then functions to extend the axle members axially apart to position the axle spindles within the panel apertures and thereby rotatably mount the axle members on the panel.

Abstract: A handle for attachment to a carton to facilitate carrying the carton. The elongated handle has the upper end of the leg portion of each of two L-shaped members connected to the same end of the handle so each foot portion of the members projects parallel to the handle. The tip of each of the feet is sharpened to facilitate puncturing the carton. The members are pivotally connected to the handle to allow the members to be collapsed. The sharpened tip of each foot portion tapers downwardly and rearwardly from the end to meet the lower portion of the foot portion at a rocker area about which the foot portion can rock to lower the junction of the foot and leg portions of each member toward the carton after the carton surface has been punctured. This allows the foot portions to run between the surfaces of corrugated cardboard.

Abstract: A removable handle and handle-receiving assembly. A handle having a first end connected to a plurality of annular segments is inserted into a first opening, twisted to a predetermined position and its second end inserted into the front panel, the second end being retained by a sliding retainer. The removable handle replaces all semipermanently mounted handles on instrumentation closures, resulting in considerable weight and cost savings.

Abstract: A pad-type paint applicator includes a base adapted to releaseably receive a paint applicator pad, and a handle assembly removably attachable to the base and including an adjustment mechanism which permits the handle to be locked in virtually any position between a position with the handle located normal to the base and a position with the handle located parallel to the base, the locking mechanism including a serrated surface at the base of the handle adapted to be driven into engagement with a complementary serrated surface on the upper surface of the base.

Abstract: A finger pull for attachment to intersecting relatively transverse side and edge faces of a panel and which has a main base portion and an auxiliary base portion integrally connected along one edge of the main base portion. The main base portion has a flat mounting face at one side and the auxiliary base portion has a flat mounting face at one side that is disposed coplanar with the mounting face of the main base portion. A layer of pressure sensitive adhesive is adhered to the mounting faces of the main and auxiliary base portions and the connecting portion is made sufficiently thin to bend and allow the auxiliary base portion to be moved to a position extending transverse to the main base portion.

Abstract: A plastics strap handle is secured to a plastics container body by means of a spigot which is pushed into the wall of the container body to form a socket. Material from the wall around the socket is coined into an annulus surrounding the shank of the spigot to retain the head of the spigot in the socket.

Abstract: A handle assembly for a cooking container which comprises a handle member connected to the cooking container, the handle member including a hollow coupler adapted to contact the cooking container, a handle having hollow end portion and an insulated connecting member disposed intermediate to the hollow coupler and the handle, one side of the intermediate member being slidably disposed within the hollow coupler, and the other side thereof being slidably disposed within the hollow portion of the handle member and screw means extending through the insulated connecting member and through the hollow coupler for screw engagement with the cooking container.

Abstract: The utility tool facilitates the handling of rotisserie spits particularly heated spits during cooking. The tool can be used to carry a spit crosswise or lengthwise. A stepped slot is formed in a projected plate mounted at one end of the tool for engaging the spit crosswise for lifting the latter from a cooking appliance. Another slot is formed in a second projected plate mounted at the second end of the tool to facilitate adjustment of meat forks used on rotisserie spits. An arcuate notch is formed in one of the projected plate to facilitate cleaning of the cooking grill as well as placement of the meat forks into the meat being cooked.

Abstract: A handle for attachment to screen doors and the like is comprised of two identical components, each component being positioned on opposite sides of the screen. Each of the two components has apertures formed in an extended component section for attachment to the frame of a screen door by a nut and bolt arrangement. Each component has a body section extending over the screen. The body section of each component has at least one body section passage. A threaded insert attached in one body section passage permits a screw passing through the body section passage of the screw of the opposite components to couple the two component body sections together. Each body section is structured to permit a user to engage the component manually without difficulty. In the preferred embodiment, the component body sections are fabricated of sufficient size to be easily visible by even casual observation.

Abstract: A faucet handle comprises an upper portion having a top and downwardly depending skirt. A lower portion has an outer peripheral wall, an inward member, and a central sleeve for connection to handle hardware. The upper portion defines an aperture in the skirt, with the lower portion defining an outwardly biased, inwardly deflectable retention member having a part which snugly fits within the aperture. This causes the upper and lower portions to be retained in lock-together relation. The retention member is inwardly deflectable by pushing for a distance that permits unlocking and separation of the upper and lower portions.

Abstract: A utensil handle including a handle member of plastic having a front opening recess for receiving a bolt adapted to be secured on the utensil, whereby the cross section of the recess in the handle member and the one of the bolt conform to one another and both have a polygonal cross section and the bolt is provided with a notch which has a sloped surface and the bolt and the handle member are held together frictionally with a spring which is held on said handle member and acts onto the sloped surface of the bolt. In order that the utensil handle can be manufactured inexpensively and can be mounted easily, a simply formed spring is provided which acts onto the bolt through large lever arms, brings about a relatively large tolerance balance, permits an all around guide for the bolt in the handle and permits the mounting of the handle to the utensil. The spring has a back which extends in insertion direction in the recess. The spring is pivotally supported about its bearing points on the handle member.

Abstract: A drain unclogging and clearing apparatus providing an elongated rigid tube having a constricting nozzle at one end capable of increasing the velocity of water flowing through the tube and ejecting such water in a jet, the nozzle being surrounded by a flared resilient splash guard. The opposite end of the tube is provided with a quick acting manually controlled ball plug valve connected to a supply hose which, in turn, is connectable to either a male or female threaded faucet. An oval ring-shaped handle is adjustably mounted on the tube approximately one-third of the length of the tube from the valve and is provided with studs for carrying male and female hose adapters.

Abstract: Working trim for a lock including an adapter plate mounted on a door. A noncircular spindle extends from the door through the adapter plate. A shank adapter is slidably received on the spindle for rotation therewith and retaining means is provided for axially retaining the shank adapter on the spindle in one direction with the adapter plate retaining the spindle in the other direction. A door operator, such as a knob, is mounted on the shank adapter for rotation therewith.

Abstract: A typical jackhammer has a pair of handles arranged in line normal to but at opposite sides of the vertical centerline of the elongated jackhammer body. Frequently one of these handles breaks off and renders the tool inoperative. The present invention provides a simple replacement handle that is easily installed in substitution for the broken-off handle, comprising a Y-shaped steel plate in which the arms of the "Y" bolt to the jackhammer body and the leg of the "Y" projects outwardly in line with and in opposition to the remaining handle. The leg of the "Y" is fitted with additional metal portions to give the leg a rounded section that closely simulates the original handle. Thus bolted in place, the replacement handle substantially restores the tool to operative condition.

Abstract: A withdrawal apparatus for card like structures includes a body having two rigidly connected parallel sides defining a channel therebetween. A movable member is pivotally connected to the body via a flexible hinge and supports a pin at the end thereof opposite the hinge. Pivoting of the movable member about the hinge causes the pin to enter an aperture in the sides of the body and extending through the channel and any card like structure within the channel. A retaining member on the movable member cooperates with a retaining portion of the body to retain the pin within the aperture.

Abstract: An auxiliary handle for a door comprising a bracket which is secured to the door adjacent the hinge connection thereof. A handle member is pivotally secured to the bracket and may be moved from an inoperative vertically disposed position to an operative horizontally disposed position. When the handle member is in the operative position, the handle member may be grasped to pull the door to its closed position.

Abstract: A handle for a shopping cart comprised of elongated tubular member having opposed securable ends. At each end of the tubular member there is provided a lock pin formation which extends outwardly thereof to be received in an arresting passageway of an attachment portion of a respective handle support arm secured to a shopping cart. A fastener element secures the ends of the tubular member to a respective one of the support arms and extends axially into the tubular member for retention of the lock pin formation in the passageway thereby preventing axial rotation of the tubular member. The end cross sections of each tubular member also constitutes an arresting formation which is nested in a retention cavity formed in the handle attachment portion of each of the handle support arms. This formation is received in close fit in the retention cavity to further prevent axial rotation of the handle.

Abstract: A hollow sheet metal handle for fastening to a welding bolt weldably secured to utensils. The welding bolt has a triangular or polygonal cross section and a bore having an internal thread. A shaped part of sheet metal is welded to the utensil in the connecting part of the hollow handle, which shaped part forms a front-side contact surface for the welding bolt. At least two plates are provided on the shaped part, which plates laterally guide the aluminum bolt. A bore for receiving a fastening screw is arranged in the contact surface of the shaped part.

Abstract: A handle having a pair of legs each bifurcated at its end to provide a slot defined by a pair of fingers. One of the fingers is flexible and is provided with a cylindrical pin, the end of which has an inclined cam surface forming a slide on which an eyelet hinge bracket rides when inserted into the slot. The flexible finger moves permitting easy entry of the lug.

Abstract: A bevel gear driven offset screwdriver arrangement includes a housing which bounds an elongated passage and an opening which communicates with the passage and is centered on an axis that includes an obtuse angle of substantially between 100.degree. and 135.degree., preferably 105.degree., with the axis of the passage. A shaft is rotatably received in the passage and carries at its end close to the opening a first bevel gear which meshes with a second bevel gear that is rotatably received in the opening. The housing is constituted by two separate half-shell sections which are held together by two holding rings that are slid onto semi-tubular regions of such sections and urge the latter together, as well as by screws. The second bevel gear has a central recess of a non-circular cross-sectional configuration, and a compatibly configurated support portion of a bit element is received in this recess and entrained for joint turning with the second gear element.

Abstract: A device for opening and closing a sliding-door, of the type wherein the rollers by which the door is carried sink into recesses in the guide-rail when the door is in front of the doorway so that the door, when opening it, has to be lifted somewhat, said device comprising a lever rotatable around a rotation shaft, the one arm of which is provided with a push-off cam and the other arm of which forms an operating handle, said lever being supported in the door in such a manner that, when the door has almost reached a final position, the lever can assume a position which is inclined in respect of a vertical line, by which the operating handle will be at a larger distance from the immediately adjacent post of the door-frame than the rotation shaft of the lever.

The handle grip section is a longitudinally split tubular member. The end caps are capable of mounting the handle grip section in either of two rotative positions 90.degree. apart.

Abstract: A handle fastening structure on a utensil. A support bracket is provided which projects from a utensil wall. The handle member has a recess therein opening toward the utensil wall and which receives the support bracket therein. The support bracket has an attachment extending at an angle with respect to the utensil wall. At least one shoulder projects into the recess of the handle member, which shoulder in the assembled condition of the handle grips behind the attachment of the support bracket. Furthermore, in the recess of the handle member there is arranged a spring which forms an abutment, which spring cooperates with a contact surface of the support bracket and during movement of the handle onto the support bracket is tensioned and effects the securement of the handle and utensil to one another.

Abstract: A dolly device for use as a carrier for jet skis, wherein the dolly includes a frame structure having a substantially U-shaped carriage bar formed to be removably mounted to the bow of a jet ski. The frame structure is supported by a wide-tread wheel. There is also included a pair of handles arranged to be removably mounted adjacent the sides of the rear portion of the jet-ski body, whereby an individual can lift the jet ski in a manner similar to that when lifting a wheel barrow.

Abstract: The vehicle has a pair of spaced apart side frames disposed and spaced apart in parallel relationship. Each of the side frames is provided with a caster wheel and a drive wheel. A seat base assembly is provided above the frame assemblies and is movably interconnected on each side with one of the frame assemblies. A seat back assembly, having an upper end and a lower end, is pivotally and adjustably interconnected at its lower end to each of the side frames. In a preferred embodiment, the transport vehicle is collapsible for storage and has a removable seat base insert, adjustable and removable leg rests and arm rests, a head restraint, a torso restraint, a sun visor, and a removable enclosure for inclement weather.

Abstract: A handle assembly has a handle member secured to a stem by a fastener device which includes a coupler member secured to the end of the stem and snap fittingly engaged to an insert member which in turn is rigidly secured to the handle member. The coupler member has axially extending flanges with radially extending shoulders which engage a shoulder on the insert member. The shoulders of the insert and the coupler member have inclined surfaces that provide the handle to be connected onto the stem upon exertion of a force of predetermined magnitude in the axial direction. The coupler member and the insert member have a second pair of inclined surfaces which provide for disengagement of the insert member from the coupler member at a force of greater predetermined magnitude than the connecting force.

Abstract: The valve is particularly designed compatible for use with toxic or highly flammable fluids. It has a hard valve stem tip, such as tungsten carbide which is pushed longitudinally against the valve seat and not rotated into sealing position. The valve is provided with a backseat threaded to the valve body so that if the bonnet or packing nut is very seriously abused by the operator even to the extent of twisting or breaking, the valve will not blow out toxic or flammable fluid. Most of the parts of the valve are made of stainless steel and provisions are made for lubricating the working parts of the valve. Notches in the valve stem and packing nut provide for a safe clean break of these parts in the event they are over stressed.

Abstract: An internal door handle assembly for operating a locking mechanism. The handle is assembled into a casing so that projections on either the handle or the casing fit into grooves in the other. A torsion spring biases the handle to its closed position. A lever arm of the handle is secured by a pin to a rod that operates the locking mechanism. Once assembled, the rotational angle of the handle is limited by abutting the casing.

Abstract: A device for fitting and locking a handle to the body of a kitchen utensil comprises an end piece formed on the lateral wall of the body of the utensil, and a housing provided in the connecting end of the handle and into which the end piece can be inserted with a loose fit. The locking of the handle to the end piece is effected by a pivoting piece and an associated actuating structure, both mounted in the housing, for causing the pivoting piece to pivot. The upper face of the end piece has a notch, the pivoting piece has an end curved in the shape of a nose for insertion into the notch of the end piece, and the actuating structure for the pivoting piece is adapted selectively to bring the curved end of the latter into or out of the notch so as to lock or unlock the pivoting piece in this position during fitting or removal of the handle. The locking force may be applied via a toggle joint, and an unlocking push button may further be provided to form a safety clamping mechanism.

Abstract: Handle attachment for a hollow accessory sheet-metal handle on dishes. A support bar is provided which is fastened to the dish and has a locking recess into which extends a spring fastened in the interior of the handle, particularly during a moving of the handle onto the support bar to thereby effect a holding of the handle pressed against the wall of the dish alone through the spring tension. A one-piece constructed guide and spring element is provided for receiving the support bar and is inserted into the interior of the hollow metal handle for receiving the support bar.

Abstract: A handle comprises a gripping profile having a central portion provided with an upper and a lower edge. The central portion has a curved outer face serving as a viewing area and is defined by a pair of opposed slots for securing foils bearing indicia to the viewing area. The curved outer face of the central portion extends above a horizontal plane at an angular range .alpha. and below the same horizontal plane at an angular range .beta., where .alpha.<.beta.. On the inside of the gripping profile, the upper edge is provided with a holding bulge and the lower edge is provided with a holding web. The gripping profile is fixed to a holder on the pull-out part, by positively engaging the free end of the holder with the holding web, while the holding bulge snaps into a corresponding concave curvature provided on the holder. As a result, the handle is reliably secured.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner locking device that is particularly adapted to lock an industrial vacuum cleaner of the type having an upper container and lower container disposed in a stacked relationship wherein each container includes a pair of handles which are aligned with the handles of the other container. The vacuum cleaner locking device includes a pair of L-shaped locking bars having vertical and horizontal sections. Each vertical section extends vertically along one side of the vacuum cleaner and through a respective handle on the upper container and engages a respective handle on the lower container. A hook is formed in the lower end of each vertical section for extending around and underneath the respective lower handles for engaging the same. The horizontal sections extend from the upper end of the vertical section over the top of the upper container to a point where they meet. At this point the ends of the horizontal sections turn upward and abut against each other.

Abstract: A handle assembly for attaching a decorative handle to a turning stem is disclosed. The handle can be placed on, as well as removed from the stem by a straight axial motion (without turning the handle). In one embodiment, the stem adapter is secured to a valve stem and has an angled shoulder surface and an undercut portion. An attachment screw is employed to secure the stem adapter to the valve stem. The handle adapter has a multiplicity of resilient finger members with terminal portions adapted to engage both the angled shoulder surface and the undercut portion of the stem adapter. A handle member of a generally U-shaped configuration has a retainer member secured therein with the retainer member having finger engaging portions.

Abstract: A sterile handle cover is disclosed for covering a lamp handle of a surgical lamp to provide a sterile surface for adjustment of the lamp by an operator. The handle cover comprises a grip portion defined by a first and a second end. An end wall is integrally attached proximate the first end of the grip portion to form a hollow container open at the second end. A protector is connected to the second end of the grip portion and extends radially outwardly for protecting the hand of the operator from contacting portions of the surgical lamp proximate the lamp handle. A plurality of ribs are disposed in the grip portion for frictionally engaging the lamp handle of the surgical lamp to maintain the position of the handle cover thereon.

Abstract: A handle for a single-control mixer valve, having an outer control lever and an inner actuating lever connected together by an inner connection member fastened to the inner actuating lever and provided with a threaded bore. A cap is mounted onto the connection member and a bore located so as to correspond to the threaded bore of the connection member. A fastening screw integral with the control lever, is screwed into the threaded bore of the connection member and fixes to both the control lever and the cap to the connection member. The cap is provided with a seat to receive an ornamental element made of natural or imitation onyx, sodalite or other valuable material, which results in being easily replaceable. The parts are fastened together with no visible fasteners and ensure an easy disassembly for reaching the inner parts of the valve for repair, disassembly or maintenance purposes.

Abstract: A luggage cart of the type which unfolds from its storage into its luggage-carrying condition and vice versa, and in which the extending and collapsing handle is the principal space-saver, having the improvements of (1) a spring-biased detent to hold the handle in its extended position and a detent release to cause withdrawal of the detent preparatory to collapsing the handle, and (2) a novel plastic hinge to establish and support the luggage-carrying platform of the cart.

Abstract: An impact-resistant knife hilt comprising a hollow handle containing a clevis with shear pin connecting the knife blade to the end cap of the knife handle. Such a knife is readily assembled and disassembled by spinning the end cap while the hilt with shear pin reduces the risk of blade breakage upon impact.

Abstract: An inflatable implement handle for use by the manually impaired is disclosed. The handle carries a pocket for interchangeably receiving an implement such as a pencil, an eating utensil or other implement when the handle is deflated. Upon inflation, a resilient handle for the implement is provided, with the walls of the pocket exerting a force against the implement whereby the implement is retained by the handle. The handle may be inflated to various degrees of resiliency to accommodate the extent of manual impairment of a user.

Abstract: A concealable handle for carrying an article having one or two elonated channels with a U-shaped cross-section. The handle works in combination with the channels, the handle comprising two elongated straps proportioned to fit inside the channels, one inside each channel. Each strap has a pivot at one end and an attachment at the opposite end. The pivot is too wide to slide out of the channel and is proportioned with longitudinal dimension about equal to the distance between the bottom of the channel and the lips. The latitudinal dimension, perpendicular to the longitudinal dimension, is shorter than the longitudinal dimension and the intersection of the edges is rounded. The dimensions of the pivot allow sliding of the strap means along the length in the channel and free rotation of the strap out of the channel to the perpendicular position. At the perpendicular, the pivot is restricted from further rotational movement. Further, at this position, movement of the pivot along the channel is restricted.

Abstract: A handle (1) for use on a bucket of plastic material and a fastening knob (2) are integrally moulded and interconnected by a moulded fin (4). The fastening knob (2) has a head (5), an elastically resilient flange (6) slanting outwards, and a shank (7). When the handle is to be attached to a bucket, the free end of shank (7) is connected to the bucket wall, preferably by ultrasonic welding, and handle (1) is pressed towards the wall. Head (5) is pressed through an aperture (3) in the handle to pivotably mount the handle on the shank (7), with flange (6) acting as a barb-like anchoring member preventing the handle from falling off. Simultaneous moulding of the handle and the fastening knob renders the use of lateral core removing openings superfluous and simplifies mounting of the handle and the knob.
