  • Patent number: 11015349
Abstract: An installation for covering and uncovering a surface includes a series of slats of adjustable inclination supported by pivot pins via a set having a first carriage and a second carriage. A movement system has, for each head slat, movement motors on board the first and second carriages. For the even-numbered slats, firstly a retractable coupling (A) is fastened between the first carriage of said slat and the first carriage belonging to the head slat or to the neighboring slat of lower number, and secondly a drive system (S) is provided for driving the second carriage of said slat in translation. For each odd-numbered slat that is present, a retractable coupling (A) is fastened between the second carriage of said slat and the second carriage belonging to the neighboring slat of lower number, and a drive system (S) is provided for driving the first carriage of said slat in translation.

  • Patent number: 10407980
Abstract: We disclose a cordless window covering that may raise, lower, and tilt a plurality of slats without the use of lift cords. The covering may include an external frame with two vertical sides and a headrail. The covering may also include a plurality of slats, each of which may be connected to an adjacent slat by at least one string on each side and the headrail. This may allow the slats to hang freely when lowered. It may also allow all the slats to tilt when only the top slat has been mechanically tilted by a drive belt. The bottom slat may include a bottom bearing connector which may interact with a drive belt such that it may be raised and lowered when the drive belt rotates. Each slat may be connected to a bearing and a bearing connector that may be slidably connected to a guide channel.

  • Patent number: 10030440
Abstract: Venetian blind with horizontal slats suspended via carriers. The carriers extend through openings in the slats and include supports each supporting a slat adjacent one of the openings. The openings and the supports are arranged for providing stable support for each of the slats in at least two, mutually distinct positions. The orientations of individual slats or of subgroups of the slats can be adjusted very quickly by directly engaging the slats to be adjusted with a hand or an operating member between a limited number of predefined orientations. An orderly visual appearance can be achieved easily, even though the orientations of the slats are adjusted individually, since slats intended to be in the same orientation automatically assume mutually identical orientations.

  • Patent number: 8459325
Abstract: An operating system for a retractable covering for an architectural opening wherein one edge of the covering is fixed and the opposite edge is movable between extended and retracted positions, includes an endless cord loop having a finger slide that is slidably mounted adjacent to the fixed edge of the covering to effect circulation of the cord loop. Also included in the cord loop is an anchor plate secured to the fabric of the covering adjacent to its movable edge, with the anchor plate also moving with circulatory movement of the cord loop to move the movable edge of the covering between extended and retracted positions. The tension in the cord loop is adjustable through the connection of opposite ends of the cord loop to the finger slide and the routing of the cord loop is directed through cord guides of low friction material so that the entire operation of the covering is smooth and reliable.

  • Patent number: 7681620
Abstract: A stacking mechanism comprising: a rotatable screw with external thread of length L and pitch P1; a plurality of N traveling nuts mounted on the screw, having internal thread of pitch P1 and external thread of pitch P2, P1>P2; an arrester preventing rotation of the nuts within a length L1 of the screw, while allowing sliding; and a threaded member of pitch P2 adapted to engage the external thread of the nuts within a length L2 of the screw. In a first position of the mechanism, the nuts are arranged over the length L1. Upon rotation of the screw, the nuts slide along the screw at rate P1 per 1 turn, transit from L1 to L2, and then slide within the length L2 at a rate P2 per 1 turn, thereby achieving reversibly a second position of the mechanism where they are arranged over the length L2, L2<L1.

  • Patent number: 7543623
Abstract: An insulated glass window assembly including a cordless integral shade with level correction, a sliding follower, and an air permeable spacer assembly. Cords are eliminated by confining the window covering movement to one dimension. Level correction is achieved by pivotally connecting the shade bar to the supporting operator or shade support, so that the bar can be re-leveled by raising or lowering the bar against the IG spacer. The follower slides in a track on one side of the IG. The spacer includes an air passageway between the desiccant chamber and the space between IG space, and the hole is covered by an air-permeable patch to prevent unwanted leakage of desiccant into the viewable area.

  • Patent number: 6923237
Abstract: Improved apparatus for bottom up shades to minimize gaps between the shade material and the lintel or between the shade material and the side of the window. In one apparatus a support rod is attached to a pull cord which is attached to the headrail which causes a rotation of the head rail and results in moving the top of the shade to the lintel. In another apparatus a centering cord moves the shade to the side and a side support rod symmetrically hangs the shade, thus, eliminating the gap on the side. A further improvement of a valance on the bottom acts to hide the mechanism and to act as a cradle for the shade material and headrail when the shade is in the down position.

  • Patent number: 4638166
Abstract: A portable and collapsible radiation shielding device is provided for the protection of personnel and equipment from ionizing radiation. The shield has a plurality of horizontally elongated slats of radiation shielding material, such as lead wool, hung from a plurality of horizontally spaced apart chains at spaced intervals along the length of the chains. The slats are connected to the chains near their top edges so that when they are in their raised state the slats are suspended from the chains and arranged in an overlapping manner, like shingles, and when collapsed arrange themselves neatly side by side in a stack. The device also has a container adapted to receive the shield in its collapsed state, and a hoist and mast for raising and lowering the shield into and out of the container. The container further has wheels for facilitating moving the device to the desired location, and an outrigger for providing stability to the shield when raised.
