Abstract: The present gated barrier includes a threshold and an isolator on the bottommost surface of the threshold to space the gated barrier from the floor. The isolator includes a compressible layer made of a textile. In a second embodiment, the isolator includes a relatively compressible layer made of a textile and a relatively incompressible layer made of a plastic. The isolator protects the floor against scratches and dampens the noise that is made when the gate is shut.

Abstract: A decorative light applicable for landscaping includes an expandable and collapsible main body and a lighting portion. The main body includes a plurality of first elongated members and a plurality of second elongated members that are pivotally connected to and overlap the first elongated members. The main body is expandable and collapsible between its two opposite lateral sides through pivotal movement of the first and the second elongated members. The lighting portion includes a power supply unit and a plurality of light strings. The light strings are electrically connected to the power supply unit and extend into the first and the second elongated members respectively. Each light string is provided with a plurality of light-emitting diode (LED) lamp beads that are arranged at intervals.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting in the one-handed safe raising and lowering off a tailgate pivotally attached to a bed of a truck. The apparatus having a module which is positioned to be hidden when the tailgate is in an up position. The module having a spring attached to the tailgate and a side of the bed of the truck for providing a counterbalancing force operating against the weight of the tailgate. The tailgate counterbalance employs lost motion and pretension of a torsion bar to achieve both a safety stop position that arrests the tailgate at about 15 degrees as well as reducing the effort required to lift and lower the tailgate beyond that point.

Abstract: A furniture system is particularly adapted to support group activities in open plans, and the like. A plurality of columns support an overhead framework on the floor of a building in a freestanding fashion at a predetermined elevation, generally above average user height. A plurality of individual panels are provided, wherein each panel is constructed to permit easy, manual, bodily translation of the same by an adult user. A hanger arrangement is associated with the overhead framework, and cooperates with connectors on the panels to detachably suspend the panels at various locations along the overhead framework. The panels are manually reconfigurable between many different arrangements to efficiently and effectively support different group activities. Preferably, the panels are capable of providing a partitioning function to visually divide at least a portion of the workspace, and/or a display function to facilitate group communications.

A screen extends between and is attached to the first side bar, the second side bar, the top bar and the bottom bar. The screen extends along each of the bars. A first support holds the frame in a doorframe. The support is elongated and has a first end and a second end. The first side bar of the frame is hingedly coupled to the support. At least one biasing member removably biases the support against the doorframe. The biasing member is removably extendable from one of the ends of the support.

Abstract: A safety gate (10) comprises a frame (12) and a gate part (14) pivotally mounted on the frame (12). The frame (12) is adapted to be mounted across a space, for example in a doorway. The frame (12) defines an opening closed off by the gate part (14). The gate part comprises a latch (24) engageable with a keep (44) on the frame (12). The gate (10) also comprises an engaging member (64) on the gate part (14) for engaging the frame (12). The gate (10) thus requires two actions to open—unlatching of the latch (24) from the keep (44) and disengagement of the engaging member (64) by movement of the gate part (14) preferably in a non-opening direction of the gate (10), i.e., upwardly.

Abstract: The invention encompasses a storm shutter system. The system utilizes a track above an opening, a shutter that is held by the track that covers the opening, a retainer that in conjunction with the track acts to hold the shutter in place, a means for retaining the shutter once the shutter has been installed. The shutter system can be deployed from the inside and is therefore very useful in protecting windows above the ground floor. The storm shutter system is useable with various types of windows including stacked windows and horizontal sliding windows.

Abstract: A frame assembly is adjustable to fit within a range of desired openings and includes juxtaposed first and second frame units detachably assembled together. An intervening media material is releasably sandwiched between the frame units. The media material defines a slotted perimeter flap that protrudes outwardly beyond at least one outside peripheral edge of the frame units to engage and to seal a space between a perimeter defining the desired opening and the frame assembly. The frame units are detachably engaged by a mounting assembly adapted to secure the frame units over the desired opening.

Abstract: A screen door entry system particularly useful for camper accessory screen enclosures is shown which is conveniently foldable for transporting and stowing when not in use. The entry system includes adjustable elements to engage with a camper canopy roller bar having different pitch angles for desired drainage, a door which is convertible between a single door and a Dutch door type, and anchor elements which are adapted to anchor the entry system at a selected location. The entry system in its folded condition is receivable in a carrying case for safe transporting and stowing.

Abstract: A rectangular rigid lattice structure contained in a frame that is adapted to be inserted between the upper and lower trackways of a conventional sliding door, with one vertical side of the structure abutting the door jamb and the other vertical side abutting the outer edge of the sliding door. The latter vertical side is equipped with flanges that wrap around the edge of the sliding door and prevent the extraction of the insert without opening or also removing the door. Locking mechanisms suitable for cooperation with the lock and jamb plate of the sliding door may be provided on each side of the insert to fasten the assembly in a closed position. The lattice may constitute a large grille with ornamental features, a small mesh screen capable of preventing insects and small animals from entering the premises, or both.

Abstract: An interior storm window that comprises a frame having one or more panels with outer and inner covers of double polished virgin vinyl plastic film with an air space therebetween. The outer frame edge is tapered at an angle of about 20.degree. and a strip of polyurethane foam is attached to the outer frame edge so that a progressively tighter friction fit is provided with the interior window frame of a house or other building. The storm window, particularly for large window frames, is in the form of two or more panels hinged together and locked together while in the same plane. A single foam edge may be provided on one of the pivoted window panels that adjoins the other.

Abstract: A mounting device is disclosed for a portable, expansion-type security gate for children or pets. The expansion gate has a variable width with frictional bumpers on each side that frictionally engage a door jamb or other doorway defining member. The mounting device consists of a socket defining mounting member for each frictional bumper that is secured to the door jamb and is configured to receive and retain the frictional bumper. One type of mounting member is configured to mount on flat surfaces such as door jambs and walls. Another mounting member is constructed to mount on a wrought iron railing. Both types rigidly support the security gate and prevent it from being accidentally dislodged.
