  • Patent number: 10781634
Abstract: A hem bar of a cable guided shade adapted to be removably attached to a pair of cables secured along opposite sides of a structural opening. The hem bar comprises a pair of cable engaging portions disposed at two opposite ends of the hem bar. Each cable engaging portion comprises a tubular body with a longitudinal channel extending therein and a slot traversing the tubular body from the top end to the bottom end of the tubular body. The hem bar may removably and slidably engage the pair of cables by twisting the hem bar in a first direction to align each slot in the cable engaging portions with a length of the respective cable, inserting the cables through the slots into the channels in the cable engaging portions of the hem bar, and twisting the hem bar in a second direction, opposite the first direction, to capture the cables within the channels in the cable engaging portions.

  • Patent number: 9637973
Abstract: The system includes a finial that is configured to be removed from a guide cable, while the guide cable is still connected on both ends. The hembar includes a finial on each end, wherein the first finial includes an external channel at an angle and the second finial includes an external channel with an opposite angle. The hembar is rotated in order to receive the guide cable into the external channel, then reverse rotated so the guide cable translates in an internal channel. The system eliminates or reduces the need for a guide cable to be threaded through an eyelet on the finial of the hembar. The system eliminates or reduces the need to detach a cable, prior to uninstalling the shade system.

  • Publication number: 20090078379
Abstract: A side window roller blind is provided. The roller blind includes a support rod having a free end connected to a tension bar. In order to prevent rattling noises, the ends of the tension bar are provided with rollers that contact the window pane such that the support rod is elastically bent during extension of the blind. In addition, the window blind is provided with aligning aids that prevent the tension bar from hitting on the slot edges during retraction of the blind, and from blocking additional retraction, due to vibrations about the longitudinal axis of the tension bar.

  • Patent number: 7128125
Abstract: A durable sealing curtain assembly preferably comprising a pair of tracks slidably attached to opposite sides of an opening such as a door or window, a curtain having its lateral edges engaged by the tracks, and spring systems attached to each track, whereby the spring systems urge the tracks outwardly to maintain the curtain taut yet allow the tracks to slide inwardly towards the center of the opening so that the curtain does not endure excessive pressure upon application of an external force. At least one track preferably also comprises a cam mechanism that is operative to urge the track inwardly to release tension from the curtain and thereby allow the curtain to be more easily raised or lowered, after which, the cam mechanism can be disengaged to allow the track to return to its outwardly biased position, thus returning the curtain to a taut condition.

  • Patent number: 4865109
Abstract: A positive drive for window shades and the like is characterized, first of all, by an opposed pair of channel-shaped tracks confining the right and left side margins of the shade and each also housing one run of an endless chain reaved under a pulley at the bottom and over a sprocket at the top. The bottom of the shade carries a rigid hem bar having eyelets in its ends sized to pass the chain but not a pair of stops carried by the latter that engage the hem bar and unwind the shade off the roller it is wound upon at the top when an exposed run of one of the chains is pulled. Right and lefthand one-way clutches are interposed between the sprockets and roller operative when the shade is lowered to disengage and permit relative rotational movement between the shade drive mechanism and the roller until the stops engage the eyelets in the hem bar. These same clutches engage when the shade is raised to link the drive mechanism and shade roller together for conjoint rotation.
