With Pivotal Motion Preventing Means Patents (Class 160/73)
  • Patent number: 6904826
Abstract: An arm bearing for an articulated-arm awning having a pillow block hinged on a bracket. The pillow block is provided on one end with at least one bearing eye for receiving one awning arm in rotary fashion. A threaded rod limits the tilting angle between the bracket and the pillow block. A first end of the threaded rod being adjustably screwed into a locating opening in the bracket and a second end of the threaded rod being provided with a head that rests against a stop on the pillow block in a maximally tilted angular position. The arm bearing includes a locking member with which the threaded rod can be fixed on the stop. The locking member includes a locking slide that can be coupled with the awning arm via a connection element to induce rotary movement of the awning arm to disengage the locking slide.

  • Patent number: 6250321
Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing which is mounted on the lower portion of the inside of a rear window of a vehicle. The housing extends across the width of the rear window. A pair of support arms are pivotally mounted, one each, on the sides of the housing. During storage, the support arms are generally parallel to and are attached to the front wall of the housing by a clip. The support arms can swing outwardly to provide support for an awning which is rolled onto a roller inside the housing. During use, when the rear window has been opened, the support arms are swung in an outward direction. The awning is which is pulled outwardly and the end of the awning is hooked onto the outer ends of the support arms. The awning, which is made of a waterproof material, includes a support member which extends between the outer ends of the support arms. When the awning is rolled back into the housing, the housing catches and collects moisture from the awning and prevents water damage to merchandise stored in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5934584
Abstract: A paper comminuting device or similar device, such as a paper shredder, is composed of two dimensionally stable side components extending parallel to each other and a bottom and a rear wall connecting the side components, and a cutting mechanism housing releasably placed on the side components and the rear wall. The rear wall and the bottom of the base frame are manufactured from an initially single-piece, planar plate with a transversely extending bending groove between the areas of the bottom and the rear wall. When the base frame is assembled, the appropriately profiled side components are connected to the plate and hold the plate in an angular position of 90 degrees. The side components are connected through insertable connecting points to the cutting mechanism housing so as to form together with the cutting mechanism housing a rigid, box-like component, wherein the connecting points are arranged in at least two planes located at a vertical distance from each other.

  • Patent number: 4607654
Abstract: An awning assembly for a travel trailer or a mobile home which includes a flexible awning covering wound on a roller which is rotatable on a fixed shaft carried by a supporting frame, includes a latch apparatus comprising a cylindrical end plate rotatable with the roller and closing one end thereof, and a cap disposed adjacent to the end plate and fixed to the frame and the shaft. The end plate has a cylindrical portion coaxial with the shaft which projects toward the cap and defines a cavity having a plurality of equiangularly spaced-apart keeper recesses around the perimeter thereof. A latch handle pivots on the cap about an axis parallel to the shaft and carries a latch pin which extends parallel to the shaft for movement with the handle between a latching position disposed in one of the keeper recesses to latch the roller against rotation and an unlatching position disposed in the cavity but out of the recesses to accommodate free rotation of the roller.
