Abstract: A wind-resistant awning is disclosed. The awning includes a backing which allows wind to flow through it, such as a mesh netting or screen backing. A plurality of flaps are attached at one edge only to the backing. The flaps are preferably horizontally aligned in parallel and overlap one another. The flaps are closed when the wind level is low. In the event a potentially harmful gust of wind presents itself, a free end of the flaps opens such that the force of the wind goes through the backing and does not damage the awning. The flaps are preferably weather resistant. Optionally, the flaps may have weak attachment means such as hook and loop fasteners to keep the flaps attached to the backing under normal conditions. The awning can be used in multiple settings and may be retractable. In various embodiments, the awning includes windows of mesh material having window flaps which lift away from the windows to allow wind flow therethrough.

Abstract: The present invention provides a removably securable blind or awning having solar modules for converting solar energy into another energy form. The awning has an electrolyzer and fuel cells, or a reformer and fuel cells, for additional storage of that surplus energy produced by the solar modules for which the customarily provided storage elements lack sufficient storage capacity. Hydrogen and oxygen tanks, electrolyzers, reformers, and fuel cells can be disposed by appropriate measures in the available space in and/or on the frame body of the awnings such that space outside of the awnings for such items need only be found on an exception basis. The storage and release from storage of energy is regulated by a bus system. Water from one of a number of different sources can be conducted to the electrolyzer via guide drains mounted on the awnings and/or via other assemblies.

The bolt is spring-biased downward.
Abstract: A top rail assembly (20) utilizes a support brace (22) and an awning mount groove (26) recessed in a rail body (24) to provide a strong top rail assembly (20) without using undue space or degrading aesthetics. The brace (22) extends between a side wall brace tab (72) and a roof brace tab (64) to reinforce the top rail body (24) and define a wire chase opening (76) between the brace (22) and a tansition section (74) of the body (24). The groove (26) is recessed into the rail body (24) and is defined by two opposed legs (80, 82) and a bottom segment (84) which are integral to the rail body (24).
Abstract: A golf bag canopy adapted to be mounted to a golf cart roof, and particularly to the rear edge of a golf cart roof. The canopy assembly essentially includes an elongated awning track, a pair of J-bar frame members, one of which is attached to either end of the awning track, a U-shaped bow frame member attached to the ends of each J-bar for pivotal movement with respect thereto, and a pliable cover having a leading edge securely attached to the awning track and a body draped over and supported by the U-shaped bow. By pivotally moving the U-shaped bow between its terminal positions, the cover correspondingly moves between covered and uncovered relation to the golf bag compartment of a golf cart. The cover may be positioned in covered relation relative to the golf bag cover during times of inclement weather, or may be positioned in uncovered relation relative to the golf bag compartment when accessing a club.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for transporting water from an awning on a recreational vehicle to a location remote from a door on the vehicle. The awning comprises a frame mounted to the vehicle and a tarp mounted to the frame. A catch basin is composed of a water-impervious material and has a side wall, a bottom panel secured to the side wall in water-tight engagement, a top opening defined by the side wall and a cavity disposed within the side wall and above the bottom panel. A bottom opening is disposed in the bottom panel. A tube has a first tube end, a second tube end and an internal chamber. The first tube end is secured in water-tight engagement to the bottom panel at the bottom opening such that the cavity is contiguous with the internal chamber. The second tube end is positioned remote to the door.
Abstract: A prefabricated collapsible awning frame system and method of forming the same. The awning frame system comprises a bracket assembly having a mounting plate that can be fixedly attached to a structure and a support member removably attached to the mounting plate. The frame system also includes at least one arm bar removably attached to the support member. A snap button is disposed with the support member and arm bar. The frame system may be assembled on the ground and the assembled frame system may be raised and removably attached to the mounting plate. To removably attach the support member and arm bar, the button head of the snap button is depressed and the support member or arm bar is slid onto the mounting plate or support member until the button head is aligned with the snap button opening. The support member and mounting plate may then be easily removed by depressing the button head and sliding the support member or arm bar using a reverse procedure.
Abstract: A stabilizing camouflaging blind which is attachable to an archery bow by means of a stabilizing rod adapted to fit the archery bow's stabilizer mounting hole. The stabilizer rod includes a round bracket and a sliding bracket to which the blinds support arms are attached. Included also is a camouflage curtain which attaches to the support arms and contains a sight window. The movement of the sliding bracket, which causes the support arms to extend and retract, determines the tautness of the camouflage curtain (ie: curtain is tightest when sliding bracket is in its foremost position). In addition, a predrilled hole, which is positioned to be below the sliding bracket in its foremost position, allows for the insertion of a security pin to hold the blind in its open position.
Abstract: A roller assembly is provided for mounting on a vehicle having a door and an awning mounted adjacent the door. The door has a generally-rectangularly shaped face and edging along edges of the face. The roller assembly comprises a roller and a bracket having a mounting portion with a substantially planar surface for abutting the face of the door and a supporting portion for rotatably supporting the roller angularly intersecting the mounting portion. The bracket is adapted for positioning the axis of rotation of the roller generally horizontal and above the edging near a top corner of the door. The supporting portion is adapted to position the axis of rotation of the roller to intersect an axis of rotation of the door.
