Patent number: 8646509Abstract: A blind with a looped blind sheet for adjusting opacity is revealed. The blind includes a top rod supporter, a top rod with two ends connected to the top rod supporter, a bottom rod supporter, a bottom rod with two ends connected to the bottom rod supporter, and looped blind sheet. The looped blind sheet with predetermined length and width includes alternate see-through parts and opaque parts and connected to form a loop having a front blind sheet and a rear blind sheet wound between the top rod and the bottom rod. When the front blind sheet or the rear blind sheet is pulled down or up, the opacity is adjusted by overlap degree of the see-through parts and the opaque parts of the front and the rear blind sheets changing without changing the length of the looped blind sheet.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2011Date of Patent: February 11, 2014Inventor: Chen-Ho Chu

Patent number: 7849907Abstract: A multiple choice shade system includes a main frame, a first winding roller rotatably supported on the main frame, a second winding roller rotatably supported on the main frame in a spaced-apart relationship with the first winding roller, a multiple choice shade element having a succession of screen sections, and an actuator for rotating at least one of the first winding roller and the second winding roller. The shade element has a first end fixedly secured to the first winding roller and a second end fixedly secured to the second winding roller. The shade element is suspended from the first winding roller and the second winding roller in such a manner that one of the screen sections is extended into or retracted from a target area as the first winding roller and the second winding roller are rotated by the actuator.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2006Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Wintec Korea Inc.Inventor: Seong-Ryong Jang

Patent number: 7192633Abstract: A covering for an architectural opening, having a first layer with alternating relatively opaque stripes and relatively translucent stripes, and a second layer with alternating relatively opaque stripes and relatively translucent stripes. The first and second layers are positioned one behind the other, with the stripes substantially parallel. The first and second layers are movable relative to one another in a direction substantially perpendicular to the stripes. The covering also includes a series of parallel binder threads for attaching the first layer to the second layer. The binder threads run substantially perpendicular to the stripes, and thereby, one of the layers can be slid along the binder threads when moved relative to the other. The blind is preferred to be woven as a double-layer fabric.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2003Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: Hunter Douglas Industries BVInventor: Anton Petrus Theodorus Hubertus Fransen

Patent number: 5083599Abstract: Cover device for providing a displaceable cover above an opening, a flexible polymer belt which is substantially more rigid in respect of deflection in a transverse direction than in respect of a longitudinal direction, and a displaceable device disposed in the opening and delimited at both sides by the belt. The portion of the belt on both sides of the device is supported only on rollers disposed only adjacent side walls of the opening, whereby the belt is supported only along opposite longitudinal side edges thereof.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1990Date of Patent: January 28, 1992Assignee: Dunlop-Enerka B. Patent number: 4766941Abstract: An electrically powered window shade with selectively variable shading characteristics is installable within a window opening for selectively blocking (by absorption or reflection), filtering and/or transmitting light through the window shade into a room for purposes of energy control and/or decoration, etc. This window shade comprises an upper roller assembly, a lower roller assembly, and an elongate flexible web wound on the upper and lower roller assemblies, with the web being longer than the spacing between the upper and lower roller assemblies. Each of the roller assemblies comprises an elongate tubular roller, bearings engageable with the end of the roller for rotatably journaling the ends of the roller with respect to the window. The web is scrolled onto and from the rollers as the latter are rotated about their respective longitudinal axes.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1986Date of Patent: August 30, 1988Assignee: Sytron CorporationInventors: David J. Patent number: 4273099Abstract: The solar heated building comprises a flexible tube of transparent plastic sheeting adapted to be positioned on, or secured to, a building or anchor unit so as to form the top cover therefor, a pair of shafts engaging spaced internal portions of the tube and extending longitudinally thereof, the tube having closed ends and being positioned to move peripherally, rollers engaging the plastic sheeting and forcing it against the shafts, whereby, on drive of the rollers, the flexible transparent tube can be moved around its periphery, the transparent tube having at least one longitudinally extending section therein with a reflective metal flexible layer thereon, whereby, when the reflective metal layer portion of the tube is so positioned on the roof or cover unit as to receive the sun's rays thereon, they are reflected whereas the flexible plastic tube can be moved around its periphery to have only transparent plastic sheeting receive the sun's rays for transmission of the light's rays therethrough to transmit heType: GrantFiled: June 14, 1979Date of Patent: June 16, 1981Assignee: Concept Development Institute, Inc.Inventor: Burton D.
