Cylinder Mold Patents (Class 162/321)
  • Patent number: 9427765
Abstract: A tank system is described for dropping fluid onto a passing vehicle. The tank system includes a tank with a fluid supply inlet. Optionally, a soap injector is included for injecting soap into the water flow to create a fluid mix that is supplied to the tank. A lighting system is attached to the tank. The fluid mix, or any other chemical in the tank, may be heated with the heating unit. An air motor is included for providing air to an air manifold that is disposed within the tank. When air is introduced into the fluid mix, bubbles are created. As the fluid mix and bubbles fill the tank, they fall from the tank via an overflow lip, with the fluid mix and/or bubbles being illuminated by the lighting system as they fall onto a vehicle passing below.

  • Patent number: 6176976
Abstract: A profile control weir for feeding dilute pulp suspension to a pond having a cylinder rotating therein which deposits pulp fibers onto a felt. The weir includes a head box having an inlet for pulp suspension disposed in a lower portion, optionally, a making board disposed along an upper front edge of the head box over which pulp suspension flows into the pond, at least three profile control boards disposed parallel to the upper front edge of the head box, each profile control board including at least one raised portion having a flat top portion, a flat lower portion, and connecting side portion.

  • Patent number: 6006554
Abstract: Paper fiber suspended in black liquor is washed in a rotating drum divided into a plurality of adjacent sectors. The fiber is formed into a mat on the drum, and the drum is rotated so the sectors progress through a first wash and a second wash of progressively cleaner wash fluid. Each sector has two distinct drainage systems. One drainage system drains the first wash water after it has passed through the mat, and is then blocked while that sector passes through the second wash. The cleaner second wash fluid is thus kept separate from the more contaminated first wash fluid, and is recirculated to be used in subsequent cycles as first wash fluid.

  • Patent number: 4784725
Abstract: A vat paper machine is disclosed, the machine including a cylinder-vat unit having a rotatable cylinder mold, a vat and a headbox for providing a continuous supply of stock to the vat. The vat has a special wall structure and is arranged upstream of the cylinder mold in such a manner that the wire gauze covered cylinder mold is brought into contact with stock in the vat to form a web by draining water from the stock through the wire gauze covered surface of the mold. An outer wire is also provided which runs in a loop over a breast roll, through the vat at the wall structure thereof and then over and around a portion of the circumference of the cylinder mold. The wall structure comprises an endless liquid-impervious belt forming an endless loop located on the inner side of the loop defined by the outer wire.

  • Patent number: 4683059
Abstract: A rotary drum filter of the pipe machine type has a stationary vacuum breaker valve-discharge elbow assembly at the discharge end of the drum which defines a streamlined, smoothly curving, and substantially unobstructed discharge flow passage with gradually changing flow cross sectional areas. The valve member includes a valve closure segment at its inlet end that is structurally connected to the annular outlet end flange and sealing rim by an extension segment which forms a continuation of the valve segment. The cross sectional shapes and areas of the flow passage at the valve outlet and discharge elbow inlet are the same, but the area gradually increases in a direction toward the outlet of the elbow, and the shape gradually changes from a segmented circle to a full circle in the same direction.

  • Patent number: 4608171
Abstract: A vacuum breaker valve-discharge elbow assembly for a rotary drum filter of the pipe machine type is adjustably mounted to the drive gear housing for the filter via a separate mounting plate. A valve flange is secured to the mounting plate. The mounting plate is in turn transversely and axially adjusted on the gear housing via adjusting bolts to accurately seat the valve within its valve housing in the drum. The discharge elbow is then secured to the mounting plate independently of the valve. The valve can be rotationally adjusted on the mounting plate without disturbing the prior axial and transverse adjustment of the plate and valve by providing slotted fastener access holes on the valve flange and close-tolerance valve flange guide shoulders on the mounting plate. Cooperative calibration plates on adjacent valve flange and mounting plate surfaces facilitate precise angular adjustment of the valve.

A valve flange comprising a separate clamping ring clamps the valve to the mounting plate. The mounting plate is in turn transversely and axially adjusted on the gear housing via adjusting bolts to accurately seat the valve within its valve housing in the drum. The discharge elbow is then secured to the mounting plate independently of the valve. The valve can be rotationally adjusted without limitation on the mounting plate without disturbing the prior axial and transverse adjustment of the plate and valve by loosening the clamping ring to enable rotation of the valve along close-tolerance guide surfaces of the mounting plate. Cooperative calibration plate and pointer on adjacent surfaces of the valve body and packing collar facilitate precise angular adjustment of the valve.
