Abstract: The present invention is directed to forming fabrics. The forming fabrics may include a series of repeat units. Each of the repeat units may include a set of binding warp yarns including a first set of binding warp yarns and a second set of binding warp yarns, wherein a binding warp yarn from the first set is paired with a binding warp yarn from the second set; a set of spring warp yarns, wherein each spring warp yarn is between a first pair of binding warp yarns and a second pair of binding warp yarns; a set of top weft yarns including odd and even top weft yarns, wherein the top weft yarns interweave with the binding warp yarns and the spring warp yarns to form a top fabric layer, wherein the spring warp yarns interweave only with the top weft yarns; a set of bottom weft yarns; and a set of bottom warp yarns, the bottom warp yarns interwoven with the bottom weft yarns to form a bottom fabric layer.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning roller configured to rotate about a first rotation axis to clean a component to which paper dust is attached, the cleaning roller having a first area and a second area that is adjacent to the first area in a direction along the first rotation axis and to which more paper dust is attached than to the first area, and a remover configured to rotate about a second rotation axis extending in a direction different from the first rotation axis and configured to come in contact with at least a portion of the second area to remove the paper dust from the second area.

Abstract: A paper machine clothing has a substrate with an upper side, a lower side, two lateral edges and a usable region between the two lateral edges. The usable region is formed with a multiplicity of through-channels that extend through the substrate from the upper side to the lower side. The through-channels are non-cylindrical with a cross sectional area becoming smaller when going in a thickness direction of the substrate from the upper side to a middle region of the substrate between the upper side and the lower side. An upper rim of at least one of the plurality of through-channels directly contacts an upper rim of at least one other neighboring through-channel of the plurality of through-channels. There is also described a method of producing such a paper machine clothing.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fabric belt for the production of a corrugated cardboard web in a corrugated cardboard machine having several warp layers. In at least one edge region of the fabric belt, a surface of its upper warp layer has at least first regions (21) which consist of first yarns, and second regions (22) which consist of second yarns. The first yarns contain 30% b.w. to 100% b.w. aromatic polyamides, 0% b.w. to 70% b.w. aliphatic and/or alicyclic polyamides and 0% b.w. to 5% b.w. other materials. The total of the polyamides and other materials thus gives 100% b.w. The second yarns contain 50% b.w. to 85% b.w. polyester and/or aliphatic polyamides and/or alicyclic polyamides, 15% b.w. to 50% b.w. cellulose and 0% b.w. to 5% b.w. other materials. The total of the polyesters, polyamides, cellulose and other materials gives 100% b.w.

Abstract: A woven-fabric belt for a fibrous web machine includes longitudinal and cross threads forming crossing points, top and bottom sides and a seam segment. Each longitudinal thread has end segments with ends. A segment is formed by weaving end segments with cross threads. Some end segments follow a weaving path with the cross threads, along which an end segment forms floats on the sides in alternation in direction of the thread end and a float is disposed on the bottom side between two adjacent floats on the top side and vice versa. A last float before the thread end is formed on one side and the end segment switches from one side to the other following the last float before the thread end. The end segment is bonded to a cross thread at one thread crossing point in one float lying before the last float in the weaving path.

Abstract: A fabric, in particular a press felt, is provided for use in a press section of a machine for producing a fiber web such as a paper, cardboard, or tissue web. The fabric is formed of multiple strips which are arranged adjacent one another and extend substantially parallel to one another in a machine direction. The strips together form a width of the fabric in the machine transverse direction. Each strip is designed as a double-layered sheet material. Strips arranged adjacently in respective pairs are connected by way of a connecting strip. A part of the width of each of the connecting strips extends in the machine transverse direction into the two adjacent strips. The strips are connected to the connecting strips.

Abstract: A method for producing a spiral link fabric with a plurality of spirals joined to one another in an overlapping manner, with a plurality of seam wires stitched into overlapping regions of adjacent spirals and connecting the spirals to one another to form a flat structure, and with a plurality of packing elements introduced into free cross sections of the spirals, wherein the flat structure runs through a thermofixing operation before or after the introduction of the packing elements. The spirals are joined together to form the flat structure such that, before the thermofixing operation, the result is a clear width, as viewed in the plane of the flat structure, for the free cross sections of the spirals connected to one another to form the flat structure, which clear width is larger than a clear height of the free cross section of each spiral.

The method includes extracting xylan from cellulose fibres with sodium hydroxide to form a mixture containing cellulose fibres and an extract solution containing xylan; removing the cellulose fibres from the mixture to isolate the extract solution; adding carbon dioxide to the isolated extract solution to form a mixture containing a liquid brightener and precipitated xylan; separating the brightener from the mixture to isolate the precipitated xylan; adding calcium hydroxide to the separated brightener to form a mixture of precipitated calcium carbonate and liquid sodium hydroxide; and removing the sodium hydroxide from the mixture to isolate the calcium carbonate.

Additional surface treatment can be provided, and two or more layers can be secured over each other for multilayer fabrics. The invention provides a simplified and economical construction, while maintaining stability and strength.
