Baffles Diverting Or Directing Flow Against Cylinder Mold Patents (Class 162/327)
  • Patent number: 7150826
Abstract: A liquid filtering apparatus for mounting in a housing and positioned to filter liquid flowing from an inlet (23) to a drain. A rotatable wheel is disposed within and coupled to a rotating screen so that rotation of the wheel causes rotation of the screen. The wheel includes vanes (5–12) extending towards the screen dividing the space within the screen into sections substantially isolated from each other except via the drain. A stationary baffle (13) arranged adjacent a portion of the screen prevents liquid from flowing into the wheel through that screen portion. The baffle is positioned such that water flows more readily into sections of the wheel on one side of a vertical plane through the rotation axis than the other sections. Thus, the wheel is unbalanced by water retained in sections of the wheel and rotation of the wheel results.

  • Patent number: 6176976
Abstract: A profile control weir for feeding dilute pulp suspension to a pond having a cylinder rotating therein which deposits pulp fibers onto a felt. The weir includes a head box having an inlet for pulp suspension disposed in a lower portion, optionally, a making board disposed along an upper front edge of the head box over which pulp suspension flows into the pond, at least three profile control boards disposed parallel to the upper front edge of the head box, each profile control board including at least one raised portion having a flat top portion, a flat lower portion, and connecting side portion.

  • Patent number: 4705631
Abstract: A thickener has a receptacle in which a thickening drum having an axial filtering wall is mounted in a receptacle for rotation about an axis. A liquid-and-solid-materials mass to be thickened is introduced into the one axial end of the thickening drum. Thereby the solid materials contained in the mass to be filtered form a filtering layer on the inner surface of the a filtering wall and liquid filtrate from the mass flows through the filtering layer and wall into the receptacle. At least one barrier plate radially divides the inner space of the thickening drum into axially sequential spaces, the barrier plate being fixed within the thickening drum for rotation therewith. The barrier plate is provided with at least one opening axially therethrough for flow of the mass to be thickened and at least one opening axially therethrough for air flow in the axial direction of the thickening drum. The thickened mass is then discharged from the other axial end of the thickening drum.

  • Patent number: 4440596
Abstract: Pulp vat apparatus for applying pulp to a plurality of conductors in which a pulp vat has a cylinder mould with axially spaced annular perforate regions, one for each conductor, and the vat is divided by partitions into compartments, one for each perforate region. There is a flow inlet for pulp into each compartment and means to vary the pulp flow rate through each inlet independently of the flow rate through the other inlets whereby the level of pulp in each compartment is variable independently of the other compartments.
