The fiber web is formed and carried on the imprinting fabric with an initial dry content of less than 35%. The first pressure field device applies a first pressure field to the imprinting fabric and the fiber web, thereby pressing the fiber web onto the imprinting fabric, thereby pre-imprinting the fiber web. The second pressure field device applies a second pressure field to the imprinting fabric in the fiber web, thereby again pressing the fiber web onto the imprinting fabric, drying the fiber web and fixing a three-dimensional surface structure in the fiber web. The drying cylinder has the fiber web delivered thereto by the imprinting fabric.

  • Patent number: 7241364
Abstract: A web of tissue is formed in a twin wire former, followed by an air press for water removal in the pressing section, passing onto a Yankee dryer. A headbox injects stock between upper and lower dryer fabrics brought together on a breast roll. The fabrics moves over vacuum boxes, and the web is heated with steam and passed between an upper pressure box and a lower vacuum box forming an air press which dewaters the web. A sheet transfer pickup vacuum box holds the sheet to the upper fabric as the lower fabric diverges from the upper fabric. A pressure roller transfers the web onto a Yankee dryer. The fabrics are cleaned on vertical runs before returning to the breast roll. A final forming fabric is arranged to operated at a lower speed than the penultimate forming fabric so that a rush transfer and creping like action takes place.

Abstract: A shoe roll of a shoe press for use in a papermaking machine, the shoe roll including a blanket, or endless belt, which houses a shoe assembly that, in cooperation with an external backing roll, forms an extended nip proper. The shoe press includes an oil circulation piping system for removing the oil from the interior of the shoe roll and transferring the oil to an oil trap during the running of the machine, whereby the piping system also includes a suction fan connected thereto. The device is implemented by way of connecting an oil siphon to the oil circulation piping system, the oil siphon adapted to move towards and away from the blanket in the interior of the shoe roll so that, when the roll is stopped, the siphon removes the excess oil from the interior of the blanket by a pressure differential generated by of the suction fan.

  • Patent number: 7074303
Abstract: A shoe press for a papermaking machine having clamping means mounted onto the head from the end thereof remote from the blanket. In one embodiment, the head itself is provided with a wedge surface in engagement with respective inclined surfaces of wedge segments and the blanket extends between these wedge segments and opposing surfaces provided on the clamping means. Axial displacement of the clamping means relative to the head, e.g. by tightening or releasing of bolts, then causes the blanket to be clamped between the wedge segments and the clamping means or to be released and removable therefrom. In another embodiment, it is the clamping means which is provided with wedge surfaces in engagement with respective inclined surfaces of wedge segments, and the blanket then extends between the wedge segments, and an opposing flat surface on the head. However, in other respects axial displacement of the clamping means brings about clamping or release of the blanket edge in the same manner.
