Abstract: A method of one-piece casting of a tool with a working component of steel and a body of grey iron, and an interconnection zone therebetween is carried out in a single mold which is kept closed and unchanged during the casting. The steel is cast first from beneath and upwards, whereafter a pause is made. The casting of the grey iron is only carried out when the temperature of the steel in the intended interconnection zone has fallen to a temperature corresponding to the liquidus temperature of the steel minus approx. 30° to 150° C.
Abstract: To produce moulds or cores for foundry purposes from a mixture (M) of moulding material or sand and a binder, the mixture (M) is shot using a shooting unit (2) or from a shooting tube (3) and a shooting head (4) through at least one discharge opening (7) arranged on a shooting plate (5) into a moulding or core tool (8). The region of the discharge opening (7) is moistened and/or kept moist by a liquid between at least two shooting operations, where the liquid (15) used for moistening is atomized by at least one ultrasonic atomizer (16) to form an aerosol capable of suspension and is fed to the discharge opening (7) directly or indirectly, for example, via one or more lines (18, 23).
Abstract: A method to obtain a refractory carbide-based composite material, in particular as an article of a predetermined shape includes the following steps: molding of a porous blank from a mixture of powders of at least one carbide-forming metal and/or non-metal and at least one carbide, the amount of carbide component in the mixture of powders not exceeding 90%, heat treating the obtained porous blank in a hydrocarbonous atmosphere containing one or more hydrocarbons until the increase in its mass reaches 2-42%, thereby obtaining a semi-product, and heating the obtained semi-product in a non-oxidizing medium at a temperature of 1000-2000° C.

Abstract: Shooting device for core blowing machines, which may be coupled to the mouth of the sand magazine prior to the shooting operation and separated therefrom at the end of said shooting operation in order to change the magazine. The device includes a ram, alternatively displaceable by hydraulic means, designed to couple to and separate from the mouth of the magazine, through which the air discharged from the reservoir reaches the magazine with the aid of a shooting valve which cuts off the supply from the reservoir by means of the pressure source acting against the piston and specifically against one of the surfaces of the piston having a considerably larger surface area than that against which acts the pressure from the reservoir, aperture whereof is effected automatically by cutting off the pressure source supply both to the valve itself and to the reservoir.
Abstract: A moulding plant comprises a sandslinger 2 and a turnover and withdrawal mechanism mounted on a common bed. The turnover mechanism is made in the form of two disks spaced apart and coupled to a drive designed to turn the turnover and withdrawal apparatus in a vertical plane relative to their horizontal axes. Rigidly fixed between the disks are side-roller conveyers wherebetween is mounted a double-sided pattern plate with top and bottom patterns. The withdrawal mechanism comprises power cylinders for moving the pattern plate with the top and bottom patterns. Mounted on the bed are two side-roller conveyers designed for carrying empty moulding boxes to the turnover and withdrawal mechanism.
