Including Means To Hold Or Position Preformed Product Part Patents (Class 164/288)
  • Patent number: 7387153
Abstract: A centrifugation injection mold comprising: a lower mold portion having a basic block the lower portion of which is mounted to and rotates within bearing means that are affixed to a machine structure, a plurality of axial columns the bottom portions of which are affixed around the outer portions of the basic block, and a moveable block defining a lower mold cavity and being mounted in a sliding relationship to the axial columns, in order to be axially displaced between an open mold position and a closed mold position; an impelling means operatively associated with the machine structure and with the moveable block for displacing the moveable block to the open mold position against the action of an elastic means; a locking means mounted to each axial column; and an upper mold portion to be removably seated on the axial columns and affixed thereto by the locking means in a closed mold position.

  • Patent number: 6997236
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for a centrifugation injection mold, comprising an upper mold portion (10) and a lower mold portion (20), which are respectively and rotatively mounted to an upper bearing (30) and to a lower bearing (40), the latter comprising: a first flat ring (41) affixed to a machine structure (E) and presenting a radial gap that is internal in relation to the lower mold portion (20); an annular cage (42) bearing spheres (44) seated on the first flat ring (41), said annular cage (42) presenting radial gaps that are external and internal in relation to the machine structure (E) and to the lower mold portion (20), respectively; and a second flat ring (45) inferiorly seated on the spheres (44) of the annular cage (42) and maintaining radial gaps that are external and internal in relation to the machine structure (E) and to the lower mold portion (20), respectively, axially bearing the latter.

  • Patent number: 6513572
Abstract: A process for connecting at least two components, particularly body components of motor vehicles, wherein the first component has an undercut on a side facing the second component. In the area of the undercut, a connection piece is cast to the first component. The connection piece is designed such that, during its solidification, the connection piece is firmly connected with the first component by the contraction of a last-solidifying core area of the connection piece. Then the second component is mounted on the connection piece.

  • Patent number: 6513570
Abstract: An apparatus and method for pressure casting a battery part wherein the state of molten lead is monitored so that when the molten lead enters a liquid-to-solid transformation stage, the volume of the mold available for the lead to solidify therein is quickly reduced through a volume contraction step to thereby cause the molten lead to flow into the remaining volume at the same time one maintains pressure on the molten lead. As the molten lead solidifies under the reduced volume and high pressure it produces a battery part that is substantially free of both tears and cracks. In an alternate method, the lead is allowed to solidify and at least a portion of the lead is mechanically deformed through a volume contraction step to cause cracks or tears in the battery part to be eliminated thereby providing a battery part free of cracks or tears.

  • Patent number: 5002115
Abstract: A process for the casting of shaped objects by subjecting a mould to a centrifugal acceleration directed to the bottom of the mould and introducing a molten pure metal or alloy into the mould, wherein a dispersed filler is placed before adding the melt, which filler is retained immovably during the addition of the melt by using a cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4034800
Abstract: A plant for producing bimetallic sleeves by pouring molten so called babbitt metal into the space of a sleeve being rotated. The plant comprises a head stock and a tail stock mounted on a bed, the tail stock being slidable along the axis of the sleeve being babbitted, each mounting means for centering and clamping the sleeve that is poured in between them with the help of cones set up on the head and the tail stocks. The tail stock mounts a pouring device wherein the babbitt metal to be poured into the sleeve is delivered by a batcher. The pouring device includes a feed funnel adapted to receive the molten babbitt from the batcher, a pipe enclosed in the axis of the sleeve, a connecting pipe supplying the molten babbitt from the feed funnel into the pipe, and a chute onto which the molten babbitt is delivered from the pipe through an opening provided therein.
