Patent number: 5088608Abstract: A locking and holding device holding and handling pattern plates, core masks and similar at molding machines in foundries. The device comprises a base plate (5) with a number of open grooves (6), which have parallel symmetry axes and are adapted to receive complementarily shaped locking studs (13), for example on a pattern plate (9). The base plate (5) is adapted to turn around a central, stationary bushing (8) projecting from the base plate, in which an upwards open recess has been made. The vertical symmetry axis of the recess is parallel to the vertical symmetry axes of the grooves in one turning position of the base plate (5). When the base plate (5) is turned away from this position, the pattern plate (9) cannot be removed from the base plate, because the wall of the recess secures the central stud (14) from the pattern plate.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1990Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Assignee: Dansk Industri Syndikat A/SInventor: Jens C. Patent number: 5069269Abstract: A lifting and turning unit for a melting or casting plant. The lifting and turning unit for a deposit stand, preferably a table, for ingot molds of a vacuum melting and casting plant is provided. The unit consists of a tubular, vertically arranged lifter column that is axially movable with a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit and that has its upper end carrying the ingot mold table. A guide system composed of guide columns and of a yoke is provided. The guide columns serve for guiding the lifter column and for protecting the lifter column against twisting. The drive for the rotation of the rotatable ingot mold table is connected to the lifter column away from the harsh chamber environment. The unit provides an extremely low maintenance lifting and turing device wherein the longitudinal movements and the rotary movements can be executed separately from one another and thus allow for an exact positioning of the table.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1990Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Assignee: Leybold AktiengesellschaftInventors: Wolfgang Reuter, Josef Gediga

Patent number: 4754801Abstract: A die casting machine in which a rotary table, mounted with a plurality of die open and close units each holding a die, is sequentially brought into association with a plurality of work stations. The die is clamped in two steps, that is, a regular die clamping and a temporary die clamping. The regular die clamping is carried out by applying the regular clamping force required by a particular injection step. The temporary die clamping is carried out by applying a clamping force which is smaller than the regular clamping force. Consequently, this die casting machine can greatly reduce the time required for the casting cycle for each product, thus providing remarkably improved productivity. Preferably, a metal cooling apparatus suitable for a rotary die casting machine may be further provided.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1987Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Assignee: UBE Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Toyoaki Ueno, Takeshi Mihara, Kouji Kawabata

Patent number: 4184582Abstract: In the formation of a battery, electrodes are connected to connector bars by mounting the electrodes in cassettes on the side of a horizontal rotatable drum. By rotating the drum, the electrodes travel in a vertically oriented, circular travel path between various work stations. Rotary displacement of the electrodes involves forward and rearward movements. All forward movements are of equal distance. All rearward movements are of equal distance. However, the distances of forward movement are different from those of rearward movement. The work stations include an electrode receiving station, a fluxing station, a connector bar casting station, and an electrode removal station. A conveyor travels horizontally through the cylinder, carrying battery containers to receive the electrodes.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1977Date of Patent: January 22, 1980Assignee: Aktiebolaget TudorInventors: Anders Borjesson, Alf Narbro, deceased
