Rotating Table Or Wheel Type Translocating Means Patents (Class 164/325)
  • Patent number: 7849910
Abstract: A plurality of molds are disposed on a rotatable base. The base is rotated to move each of the molds in turn through a pouring station to an article removing station and back to the pouring station. A molten nickel chrome super alloy is poured into each of the molds in turn at the pouring station. The molds are cooled by a flow of cooling fluid. The nickel chrome super alloy articles are removed from the molds at the article removal station. The base may be continuously or intermittently rotated relative to the pouring station. Molten metal may be continuously or intermittently poured at the pouring station.

  • Patent number: 7011138
Abstract: This invention relates to a mold rollover apparatus including a wheel member defining an axis and selectively rotatable about the axis and at least one carrier member carried by the wheel member and adapted to carry at least one mold member having a cast part disposed therein. The at least one carrier member is selectively rotatable at least from a first position, wherein the cast part is generally retained in the at least one mold member, to a second position, wherein the cast part is generally free to fall or drop from the at least one mold member. According to the present invention, the at least one carrier member is selectively rotatable about the axis at least from the first position to the second position independent of the rotation of the wheel member about the axis.

  • Patent number: 6543518
Abstract: The present invention relates to casting and more particularly to an improved apparatus and method of aluminum casting. The casting system 10 includes a furnace 12, a pump 14 and a mold 16. A semi-permanent mold cope 30 is mounted to the top of the mold 16 to quickly cool the adjacent portion of the casting 20. The semi-permanent mold cope 30 is movable with respect to the mold so that it can be moved between an open and closed position. • Patent number: 5701945
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for the automated spin-casting production of molded articles. The system includes a casting turntable and a processing turntable which are rotatively mounted, immediately adjacent to one another. The casting turntable has several spin modules mounted thereon for rotatively supporting mold assemblies. Casting preparation and pouring mechanisms are mounted around the periphery of the casting turntable. The turntable indexes the mold assemblies and positions the assemblies for preparation, pouring and solidification of the cast products. The processing turntable receives the mold assemblies and solidified castings from the casting turntable. Multiple processing stations are mounted around the periphery of the processing table for the removal of the castings from the mold assemblies and preparation of the mold assemblies for additional casting operations. The mold assemblies are returned to the casting table from the processing table for additional casting processes.

  • Patent number: 5088608
Abstract: A locking and holding device holding and handling pattern plates, core masks and similar at molding machines in foundries. The device comprises a base plate (5) with a number of open grooves (6), which have parallel symmetry axes and are adapted to receive complementarily shaped locking studs (13), for example on a pattern plate (9). The base plate (5) is adapted to turn around a central, stationary bushing (8) projecting from the base plate, in which an upwards open recess has been made. The vertical symmetry axis of the recess is parallel to the vertical symmetry axes of the grooves in one turning position of the base plate (5). When the base plate (5) is turned away from this position, the pattern plate (9) cannot be removed from the base plate, because the wall of the recess secures the central stud (14) from the pattern plate.

  • Patent number: 5069269
Abstract: A lifting and turning unit for a melting or casting plant. The lifting and turning unit for a deposit stand, preferably a table, for ingot molds of a vacuum melting and casting plant is provided. The unit consists of a tubular, vertically arranged lifter column that is axially movable with a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit and that has its upper end carrying the ingot mold table. A guide system composed of guide columns and of a yoke is provided. The guide columns serve for guiding the lifter column and for protecting the lifter column against twisting. The drive for the rotation of the rotatable ingot mold table is connected to the lifter column away from the harsh chamber environment. The unit provides an extremely low maintenance lifting and turing device wherein the longitudinal movements and the rotary movements can be executed separately from one another and thus allow for an exact positioning of the table.

  • Patent number: 4754801
Abstract: A die casting machine in which a rotary table, mounted with a plurality of die open and close units each holding a die, is sequentially brought into association with a plurality of work stations. The die is clamped in two steps, that is, a regular die clamping and a temporary die clamping. The regular die clamping is carried out by applying the regular clamping force required by a particular injection step. The temporary die clamping is carried out by applying a clamping force which is smaller than the regular clamping force. Consequently, this die casting machine can greatly reduce the time required for the casting cycle for each product, thus providing remarkably improved productivity. Preferably, a metal cooling apparatus suitable for a rotary die casting machine may be further provided.

  • Patent number: 4184582
Abstract: In the formation of a battery, electrodes are connected to connector bars by mounting the electrodes in cassettes on the side of a horizontal rotatable drum. By rotating the drum, the electrodes travel in a vertically oriented, circular travel path between various work stations. Rotary displacement of the electrodes involves forward and rearward movements. All forward movements are of equal distance. All rearward movements are of equal distance. However, the distances of forward movement are different from those of rearward movement. The work stations include an electrode receiving station, a fluxing station, a connector bar casting station, and an electrode removal station. A conveyor travels horizontally through the cylinder, carrying battery containers to receive the electrodes.
