Alternately Diverse (a, B, A, B) Patents (Class 172/147)
  • Patent number: 10005651
Abstract: Implements for moving a first body from atop a surface includes a body configured to be removably secured to a host machine, a leading edge of the body configured to be located within a gap between the first body and the surface, and a concave curved profile above the leading edge and having a shape such that as the leading edge is forced into the gap, the curved profile contacts the first body causing the first body to roll in a direction away from the implement.

  • Patent number: 7048069
Abstract: An agricultural implement consisting primarily of a towed frame supported on retractable wheels, the frame having a plurality of independently adjustable spindles for setting height and angle of attack for various size rotatable discs. Each disc is staggered to reduce resistance and clogging. Each group of discs further includes descending diameter discs at each end with the angle of attack increasing with each decrease in diameter while spacing between the discs decreases as the diameters are reduced. The implement further including harrow teeth or picks located at strategic points adjacent the discs to ensure uniform soil disruption, the disc assembly being convertible from single gang to double gang assembly and may include conventional harrow teeth sets and or unique soil leveler attachments.

  • Publication number: 20040144550
Abstract: A novel soil conditioning rotary reel comprised of a rotary reel having a plurality of flat bars attached to support plates in a symmetrical helix arrangement is disclosed. The number of bars and the diameter of the reel are determined by the limitation that the straight-line distance between two adjacent bars be less than six inches.

  • Patent number: 4703809
Abstract: An apparatus for soil working, consisting of a frame (1) drawn over the ground by a vehicle, a first roller (7) mounted rotatably in the frame (1), extending transversely to the travelling direction, a second rotatably supported roller (19) arranged parallel to and behind the first roller (7) and driven thereby through a transmission (17), and two or more rows of soil working members (6) fixed to the frame, wherein the first roller (7) extends between two rows of soil working members (6), and is mounted adjustably in height an securably with respect to the frame (1), the second roller (19) being coupled either to the frame (1) or to the first roller (7) by two or more vertically moveable swing arms (20), so effectuating a precise pressure on the ground of the first (1) or alternatively the second roller (19) independently of one another, and also by maintaining an exact setting of the soil working members (6) at a specific level.

  • Patent number: 4450916
Abstract: An earth clod pulverizing and earth smoothing implement (10) has rows of heavy, cast-iron, pointed teeth (14a-v) which are wedge-shaped in cross section with the cutting edges (42) of the wedges defining substantially vertical lines facing the forwardly direction. The implement further includes downwardly directed channel irons (16a-d) after each row of teeth, with each successive channel iron being mounted slightly lower than the one in front of it. The front leg (54) of each channel iron is shorter than the back leg (56). The implement (10) also includes downwardly directed side walls (18a and b), an upwardly flared front member (20) and a downwardly flared rear, smoothing, member (22). A channel iron (16e) having equal sides is mounted on the downwardly flared smoothing member (22). The teeth are spaced two feet apart in the rows, and the rows of teeth are spaced 14 inches apart.

  • Patent number: 4323126
Abstract: A method for preparing a field which has crop residue rows for subsequent row crop planting comprises cutting a plurality of furrows between crop residue rows and lifting and turning over the soil from the furrows into ridges, and simultaneously scraping over a plurality of crop residue rows and transferring the residue into the furrows which are being simultaneously cut, and wherein the former step forms the ridges on surfaces that are simultaneously being cleared by the latter step. The method is accomplished by tillage apparatus including a horizontal frame, a plurality of furrow cutting moldboards affixed to the frame and being curved to lift and turn over the soil cut from the furrows into ridges, and a plurality of trash boards affixed to the frame diagonally to the crop rows and in alternate relation to the moldboards and being curved to transfer the crop residue removed thereby into the furrows being simultaneously cut by the moldboards.

  • Patent number: 4091878
Abstract: An agricultural implement for pulverizing the top layer of the soil. It comprises a positively coupled pair of rollers rolling over the ground at unequal surface speeds so that at least one of the rollers is constantly slipping. A harrow is mounted in front of each roller. The assembly of rollers and harrows is pressed onto the ground by a rod comprising a built-in compression spring, which may be adjustable. Each roller is composed of a set of longitudinal strips mounted on an axle.
