Abstract: A soil breaking apparatus for use with a bottom plow comprises a beam pivotally attached by a bolt to the bottom plow; a port arm and a starboard arm fixedly attached to the beam; and a two-way hydraulic cylinder for pivoting the arms and the beams, such that the arms are oriented substantially parallel to the soil despite the tilting of the bottom plow. The soil breaking apparatus is suitable for use with bottom plows, such as bidirectional moldboard plows. The clumps or clods of soil turned up during plowing are broken up by soil breaking rods that depend from and are spaced along the arms. An improved plow combines the features of the soil breaking apparatus with those of a reversible bottom plow.
Abstract: A terracing attachment assembly is used with a moldboard plow movable in a forward direction across a field. The plow includes a plurality of moldboard plow bottoms supported below the plow frame in a spaced apart and laterally staggered relation along the direction of forward movement. The terracing attachment assembly includes a plurality of elongated blades being one less in number than the number of plow bottoms and a plurality of mounting components adjustably attaching the blades to the plow frame in generally transverse relation to the direction of forward movement and adjacent to given ones of the plow bottoms other than a lead one thereof.
Abstract: A plow/harrow combination comprising a harrow member extending sidewardly from a plow blade, the harrow teeth having an elongated cross section with the cross-sectional length axis inclined in relationship to the direction of travel, thus creating a compensating force on the plow blade, the combination also including a release and reset mechanism, which, when the harrow member is obstructed by an object creating a load exceeding a predetermined level, causes the release of the harrow member from the original position and a pivoting movement of same in a substantially horizontal plane, the harrow member being automatically returned to the original position as soon as the load on the harrow member no longer exceeds the predetermined load.
