  • Patent number: 11066790
Abstract: A concrete screeding device for screeding uncured concrete placed at a support surface includes a screed head having a floating platform, a grade setting device and a vibrating member. The screed head is configured to be positioned at a start of a screeding pass and placed at a surface of placed uncured concrete. A screed moving device is operable to pull the screed head along the surface of the placed uncured concrete. While the screed head is pulled along the surface of the placed uncured concrete and fully supported at the surface of the placed uncured concrete, the floating platform floats on the surface of the placed uncured concrete and the grade setting device adjusts relative to the floating platform to establish a graded surface of the placed uncured concrete at which the vibrating member will move over and along.

  • Patent number: 6345489
Abstract: A compact, lightweight and easy-to-use wheeled lawn care unit comprising a two-wheeled carriage, a power source, plurality of tools which may be alternatively connected to the power source, a handle and a boom connecting the selected tool to the power source. The power source is pivotally connected to the carriage at a location within its footprint. The unit has a low center of gravity by placing the power source pivot and center of gravity within a cylinder defined by the wheels. The boom extends horizontally from the power source and is of a split boom configuration which allows selective rotation for the boom portions relative to one another. An edger can be selected for the unit, which includes a spring-loaded wheel. The edger may be rotated from a non-working position where the edger blade does not contact the ground to a working position by rocking a handle behind the carriage forward against the bias of the spring. A second more compact version has the shield positioned on the boom.

  • Patent number: 6068065
Abstract: An attachment assembly is provided for quickly and conveniently mounting a roller onto and immediately ahead of an elongate blade of a road grader or other vehicle which manipulates and moves the blade over a ground surface. The portable roller has an elongate body with a continuous cylindrical outer surface for contacting and working the ground surface, and an axle element about which the roller rotates and which protrudes from each opposed end of the roller body. The attachment assembly is removably receivable on the blade and rotatably holds the roller by the protruding axle element. The location and orientation of the roller relative to the ground surface is controlled by manipulating the blade. The assembly provides an alternative to traditional road grading, namely by allowing a road grader to carry a roller to simultaneously level and compact a ground surface, such as a gravel road.

  • Patent number: 5190112
Abstract: A rotary hoe extension and kit for extending the effective length of one set of arms of a rotary hoe to increase the separation of the axes of rotation of adjacent rows of hoe wheels to a distance greater than the diameter of the hoe wheel while maintaining lateral wheel spacing. The extension includes a body member, having an upper end or first portion including a U-shaped alignment member which surrounds the existing rotary hoe arm on three sides to provide a rigid unit and a lower end or second portion having an aperture therethrough for attachment of a hoe wheel thereto. The lower end of the arm and lower end of the extension are in alignment with each other thereby allowing for maintenance of the lateral wheel spacing. A connector arrangement is provided to secure the extension to the support arm.
