With Means To Facilitate Mounting Of Implement On Motor Vehicle Patents (Class 172/272)
  • Patent number: 6860044
Abstract: A blade attachment that can be attached to an excavator or backhoe in 10 seconds and removed in 3 seconds from the operator's seat without the need for tools, nuts, bolts, pins, chains, hoses or additional personnel. The blade attachment is secured to the bucket with two u-shaped adaptors welded to the inside of the bucket. The blade has opposing brackets which support a grab bar and adjustable striker bar, allowing it to be installed on numerous buckets without modification, and providing for quick removal. The design of the bucket adaptors and striker bar prohibits the blade from being removed during earth moving and grading operations, but allows the operator to maintain a level grade when the machine is sitting on as much as a 10% grade difference.

Abstract: A device for controlling the position of a mountable implement relative to an implement carrier vehicle has a mountable implement (2, 3, 4) which can be moved at a predetermined height by the implement carrier 1 following the ground. A support element (11, 19, 20), is coupled to the mountable implement (2, 3, 4) and can be attached to the implement carrier vehicle (1). A coupling device (15, 17, 18), is connected to the mountable implement (2, 3, 4) and to the support element (11, 19, 20). The mountable implement (2, 3, 4) is freely adjusted to a lifting position corresponding to the height path relative to the support element (11, 19, 20). An attachment device (6, 7, 8) attaches the support element (11, 19, 20) to the implement carrier vehicle 1 having a lifting device. A sensor determines the actual lifting position of the mountable implement (2, 3, 4) relative to the support element (11, 19, 20). An electric winch that is supplied power from the battery of the vehicle to which the snow plow is mounted, is used to raise and lower the snow plow.

Abstract: An improved adjustable mounting bracket for a moldboard snow plow includes a horizontal box beam, cross member which is attached by lugs to the back side of the plow and a third hitch connection which is attached to a bracket mounted on the box beam member. A support arm for a yoke fits over the mid-point of the box beam and is pivotally connected by a pin. The support arm is attached to a first frame member which overlays a second frame member mounted on the truck. The frame members are linked to one another and the first frame members may be moved vertically relative the second by an hydraulic cylinder. The construction is especially compact and lightweight.

  • Patent number: 5809672
Abstract: A wing plow yoke which may be manually actuated to laterally move outwardly from the front side of a plowing vehicle to allow access to the vehicle's hood, and thus to its engine. Mounting brackets attached to opposite sides of the front of the vehicle are provided with bracket apertures wherein a yoke bar is fit so that the yoke bar can move within the bracket apertures. A gear wheel or a fulcrum-and-lever arrangement is provided which engages a series of spaced depressions situated along the length of the yoke bar. By turning the gear wheel, or by selectively engaging depressions in the yoke bar with the lever, the yoke bar (and thus the wing plow) is moved laterally outwardly from the side of the vehicle. This arrangement avoids the need for any power transmission from the engine in order to move the yoke bar, and thus the yoke bar (and wing plow) may be moved outwardly from the side of the vehicle even in the event of engine failure.

The method includes positioning the cam below the cam follower and then lifting the cam by raising hydraulic lift arms (D) carried by the tractor exerting a guiding action between the cam and the cam follower bringing them into interlocking relation for thereafter automatically engaging a latch (E) dislodgement of the cam from the cam follower as during transport of the implement may be avoided.

Abstract: A battery-powered grass mower (12) is hitched to en electric garden tractor (10). The hitching system has arms (27) pivoted (29) to the tractor, which can be raised and lowered by means of ah electric actuator strut (45). To hitch, the tractor is maneuvered until pegs (30) pivoted on the arms are poised above sockets (20) on the mower; then, using the electric actuator, the arms are lowered, driving the pegs into the sockets. Once firmly engaged, a latch (36) engages and retains the pegs into the sockets. The latch is releasable electrically. All aspects of hitching and unhitching are under remote control from the driver's seat.

The frame has a horizontal member adapted to allow attachment of an implement. The horizontal member is disposed at a location that is below the draft links and that is forward of the ends of the draft links so that the horizontal member is closer to the tractor than the ends of the draft links. An alternative embodiment of hitching device includes an elevated hitch ball on top thereof for accommodating a fifth wheel trailer hitch. A pair of tine receiving slots are positioned in the two lowermost corners of the alternative hitching device frame for receiving a respective pair of rearwardly extending fork lift tines.

Abstract: A coupling and centering device is attached to a journal (38) of a carrying frame (37) of an agricultural implement. The coupling and centering device has a catching ball (7) and a catching profile (14). The catching profile (14) has a sleeve (15) and a catching plate (25) which are connected to one another. The sleeve (15), in the fitted condition, enters a bore step (12) of the catching ball. The catching plate (25) is arranged relative to the sleeve (15) such that the transverse bore (19), for receiving the lynch pin, is arranged in the region of the wall of the catching plate (25). Thus, in view of a predetermined length of the journal (38) and the provision of the fixing bore (39), the greatest possible guiding length of the sleeve (15) is achieved on the journal (38). In this way, the strength of the connection is affected positively.
