Abstract: An implement frame having a carriage frame for coupling to a towing vehicle and wheels to support the frame for movement over a ground surface. A pivot frame is rotationally mounted to the carriage frame and a lift assembly is coupled to the pivot frame via a shift assembly. A tool bar is mounted to the lift assembly. The shift assembly moves the tool bar forward as it is moved from the field use position to the transport position. The wheels are mounted to swing arms to move the wheels inward for a narrow transport position.

Abstract: A cultivator for efficient clearing of overgrown land to prepare for planting, especially suited to operating in remote, or hard-to-maneuver-in areas, including towing by a light vehicle, comprises a frame interconnecting to hold a drum with protruding gusseted rods at right angles to the forward movement of the frame. A pair of wheels is mounted to the frame such that when the frame is flipped over, the wheels keep drum and rods from contacting ground and vegetation. A height-adjustable, removable grader bar is connected between the wheels. A trailer hitch is connected to the frame by a removable pin, reversible for towing the cultivator with the drum and rods engaging the ground for land clearing and preparation for planting, or alternatively with wheels engaging the ground for leveling ground with the grader bar or transportation. The drum's weight can vary by filling with solids or fluids.
Abstract: An agricultural implement is provided that includes a hitch assembly configured to couple the agricultural implement to a tow vehicle. The agricultural implement also includes a carrier frame pivotally coupled to the hitch assembly by a main pivot joint such that the main pivot joint resists substantially all lateral loads between the carrier frame and the hitch assembly. The agricultural implement further includes a pair of wheel assemblies each rotatably coupled to the carrier frame by a respective knuckle pivot joint, and an actuator assembly configured to rotate each wheel assembly about the respective knuckle pivot joint while the agricultural implement is in both a working and transport position.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and tangible medium using row sensing for calibrating geographical positions for guiding a farm implement and calibrated geographical positions for steering a vehicle along a row.
Abstract: The invention provides a guidance system for guiding a towed agricultural implement such as seeders, planters, sprayers and the like, along a preferred path between rows of growing crop or standing stubble by sensing the rows of growing crop or standing stubble with a uniquely designed paddle-like sensor means which does not engage the ground.

Abstract: An agricultural implement has a working position extending laterally behind a towing tractor and a transport position in which it is towed endwise behind the tractor. The implement has ground wheels that support the implement in both working and transport positions. These are rotatably mounted on the implement frame and are coupled to the hitch pole and the instrument by a steering linkage so that as the hitch pole moves between its working and transport positions, the wheels are steered between their respective working and transport positions.
Abstract: An improved suspension for a coulter wheel assembly of the type primarily intended for attachment to a tractor wherein the improved suspension is characterized by its construction including a plurality of pivotal support bars interconnecting a set of double disc openers with following press wheels is disclosed. The improved suspension includes a unique back angle pivot attachment of the coulter wheel assemblies to one of the pivoting support arms so that the coulter wheels and press wheels accurately track the direction of travel of a tractor, even when the direction of travel changes rapidly and frequently. A material may be deposited in the furrow created by the double disc openers attached to the improved suspension of this invention, and the depth of the furrow cut by the double disc opener may be adjusted.
Abstract: A two-way gang plow is provided with a pair of front steering wheels muonted for steering adjustment relative to a pivoted front axle. The steering mechanism for the wheels is coupled to a steerable tail wheel through master and slave hydraulic cylinders in such manner that when a towing tractor turns in one direction the master cylinder moves with the turning of the front wheels and supplies hydraulic fluid pressure to the slave cylinder to operate the latter and turn the tail wheel in the direction opposite the turning direction of the front wheels. During roll-over from one operative side to the other, a lever mechanism is operated to turn the axle to correspond with the operative set of plow bottoms. Also, the plow bottoms are mounted pivotally on the plow frames and interconnected by parallel linkages for simultaneous adjustment of the lateral spacing between land sides of adjacent plow bottoms.
Abstract: A land plane for leveling or grading the surface of a land area. The plane includes a frame defined by a center section and end sections pivotally connected to the center section, with each connection permitting relative physical movement about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the plane. A first hydraulic system is provided for pivoting the end sections about their transverse axes for raising and lowering the center section with respect to ground level, wherein the system includes a device for equalizing fluid between hydraulic cylinders carried by the end sections to permit adjustment of the grader assembly with respect to ground level under different operating conditions.
Abstract: A steering linkage for a wheeled trailer vehicle or implement comprising a frame, in which a bar is slidably mounted in a transverse frame member, the said bar having a rack formed thereon and in mesh with a pinion rotatble by a steering, or link, rod to impart sliding motion to the bar in response to movement of the steering rod, the bar being linked to steerable wheels of the vehicle or implement.
