  • Patent number: 10477754
Abstract: An agricultural machine has a symmetrical chassis hydraulically transformable between a folded transport configuration and two unfolded configurations, using articulated beams. An air seeder example has a primary beam linking a tractor to a hopper-carrying trailer, also locating the chassis. Machinery such as seed openers is held in frames pivoted from the tertiary beams. In all configurations except completely folded, lateral chains that are maintained tight with a hydraulically powered tensioning system having sideways compliance maintain the tertiary beams and frame-supported machinery in a symmetrical configuration to each side of the primary beam, when working.

  • Publication number: 20100200254
Abstract: A marker assembly mountable to an agricultural implement includes a set of interconnected frame sections that can be pivoted with respect to one another to retract the marker assembly for transport and/or storage. The marker assembly has a support wheel that supports the marker assembly above the ground as the marker assembly is being deployed and when in an extended working position. The point at which the support wheel engages the ground is controlled by a rigid link and cam assembly. The rigid link has a first end connected to a first frame section and a second end connected to a lever arm that is connected to a link of a second frame section. The rigid link is operative to pull down on the lever arm when the marker assembly is being deployed so as to force the second frame section away from the first frame section. The amount the second frame section pulls away from the first frame section is determined by the cam assembly.

  • Patent number: 4250970
Abstract: A farm implement has a mobile frame from which is suspended a number of chisel plow shanks and a row of rolling coulters ahead of the plows for cutting crop residue to prevent trash buildup and plugging at the plows. A transverse rock shaft on the frame is provided with swingable wheel arms and cranks to which hydraulic piston and cylinder assemblies are connected for raising and lowering the frame, and therefore, the plows and the coulters in unison. The coulters are swingably mounted on the frame for up and down movement relative to the frame as well as fore and aft movement toward and away from the plows. Turnbuckles pivotally interconnecting the coulter supports and the wheel arms impart swinging movement to the coulters during up and down movement of the frame. Accordingly, adequate slicing heights for the cutters are automatically maintained even at shallow plowing depths.
