Double Tandem Groups Patents (Class 172/595)
  • Patent number: 4844173
Abstract: A simplified method of assembling a disk from the ground up by first assembling disk gangs and then connecting the disk gangs together to provide a self-standing front and rear main disk gang pairs. The main frame is assembled over main disk gang pairs after which wheel modules are attached. Disks of different sizes are assembled, utilizing generally identical main frame beams with the same connecting locations, by decreasing the distance between the forward and rear gang pairs and moving the main frame beams outwardly as the desired width of the disk increases.

  • Patent number: 4552224
Abstract: A tandem disc implement is provided with a hitch assembly for interconnecting the implement in articulated, trailing relation with respect to a tractor. The hitch assembly includes a draw bar which is pivotally connected to the tractor and is shiftably connected to the hitch frame of the hitch assembly. In one embodiment, the draw bar is pivotally connected to the hitch frame and is shifted between in-line and angulated relation with respect to the implement. In another embodiment, the draw bar is translated laterally from an in-line position to a laterally offset position. Shifting of the draw bar permits the implement to be towed in trailing tandem relation or, alternatively, in offset relation with respect to the tractor.

  • Patent number: 4501333
Abstract: Disclosed is an agricultural implement for cultivating about trees and vines. The implement includes a frame that mounts four gangs of disc blades, two forward and two aft. The disc blade gangs are relatively movable to set up a variety of discing patterns and the gang can be so mounted on the frame that the lateral extensions of the frame do not extend above the height of the disc blades.

  • Patent number: 4301873
Abstract: A tandem offset disc implement comprising a frame on wheels, a tongue pivoted at the forward end of the frame for hitching the disc to a tractor, the frame being movable up and down, forward and rearward gangs of discs on opposite sides of the frame swingable between a field position extending out from the sides of the frame and a transport position extending rearward and also swingable up and down relative to the frame, swivel wheels for the gangs, and linkages between the tongue and the gangs for maintaining the gangs in field position for tilling.

  • Patent number: 4291770
Abstract: A disc apparatus for forming levees used in rice farming and the like. The disc apparatus includes a longitudinal frame member onto which a pair of cross frame members are pivotally attached. A set of disc blades consisting of a plurality of disc blade members are attached to the opposite ends of each cross frame member. Each disc blade member of a set are of varying outside diameters with the disc blade member having the largest outside diameter located closest to the longitudinal frame member and with the size of each adjacent disc blade member uniformly decreasing so that the disc blade member having the smallest outside diameter will be located farthest from the longitudinal frame member. Each set of disc blade members can be adjusted so that the lowermost portion of each blade member thereof is level with the lowermost portion of each of the other blade members of that set.

  • Patent number: 4271912
Abstract: An improved disc harrow (10) for cutting and leveling soil comprises a rigid frame (14) having a front pair of gang assemblies (36, 38) and a rear pair of gang assemblies (62, 64) secured thereto. The disc gang assemblies (36, 38, 62 and 64) are arranged in double-offset relationship. The forward pair of disc gang assemblies (36, 38) extend laterally outward from points located on opposite sides of a longitudinal line to effect harrowing across the entire width of the invention without leaving an uncut balk.

  • Patent number: 4066274
Abstract: Tandemly disposed tool beams project laterally outwardly from opposite sides of the central tongue of the implement and may be swung horizontally between laterally widespread, working positions and folded back, compacted, transport positions. Collapsing linkages between the tongue and the front beams control swinging of the latter, while stiff links between the front and rear beams serve to maintain a selected angular relationship between the front and rear beams in the working and transport positions. Outer sections of the front linkages are extensible for adjusting the draft angle of the front beams, while the stiff links are likewise extensible for adjustment of the angle between the front and rear beams.

  • Patent number: 4044842
Abstract: An implement frame construction includes rigid implement frame sections positioned in side-by-side relation and joined by a linkage system which permits the sections to universally flex within desired limits with respect to each other without substantial variation in lateral spacing therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4033270
Abstract: Disclosed is a farm implement for incorporating chemicals sprayed on top of soil into a predetermined depth of the soil. The incorporator implement consists of a frame adapted to be suspended on a three point suspension mechanism of a tractor and two gangs of ground driven incorporator spiders, one in front of another. Each gang includes a forward row and a rearward row of the spiders with the forward row angled acutely to one side of the direction of travel of the implement and the rearward row angled acutely to the opposite side. In a second form we utilize gangs of incorporator spiders for post emergence chemical incorporation by arranging the incorporator spiders to work between the rows of plants and providing shield troughs for the plants. In a third form we utilize gangs of incorporator spiders disposed normal to the sloped banks of a narrow, single row, plant bed for post emergence incorporation.
