  • Patent number: 10472892
Abstract: A drilling rig mobility system moves a drilling rig or similar structure in an oilfield or similar environment and includes independently controllable positioning shoes attaching to the drilling rig and controllable through separate and coordinated position control commands. Each positioning shoe may be individually addressed to reposition the drilling rig. Each positioning shoe includes a hydraulic actuator and wireless control circuitry. The hydraulic actuator provides vertical, horizontal and rotational force in response to wireless control signals for wireless position and control data and instructions with a remote wireless communications device. A cylinder stomper vertically elevates the hydraulic actuator and receives and transfers the vertical and rotational force. A foot assembly transfers the horizontal force from the hydraulic actuator. A positioning shoe cylinder stomper and positioning shoe traverse cylinder provide infinitely variable position control.

  • Patent number: 8602123
Abstract: The disclosure describes, in part, apparatuses and methods for installing structures (e.g., foundations, footings, anchors, abutments, etc.) at work sites, such as difficult-access work sites. In some instances, a rotating drill assembly is assembled over a target location in order to excavate a radial array of batter-angled shafts associated with the target location in preparation for the installation of a radial array of micropiles. An operator utilizes the rotating drill in combination with a foundation pile schedule/decision matrix to design and install the radial array of batter-angled micropiles. This disclosure also describes techniques for designing, fabricating and installing structural caps to be coupled to the installed radial array batter angled micropiles. These structural caps are lightweight and, thus, more portable to difficult-access sites where they are coupled to the micropiles forming a foundation for structure to be installed at the difficult-access site.

  • Publication number: 20040134674
Abstract: A Swiveling Valve Operator Mounting System assembly that consists of a mounting frame that has telescoping components. A turntable or thrust bearing is attached to the mounting frame the turntable bearing also being attached to a truck or trailer bed, and allows rotational motion of the mounting frame relative to the truck or trailer bed. A bearing plate is mounted onto the truck or trailer bed and allows a series of wheel assemblies to bear against the bearing plate to allow smooth rotational motion of the Swiveling Valve Operator Mounting System assembly. The mounting frame has rotation locks that engage holes defined in the bearing plate, and angularly lock the mounting frame into position. The swiveling valve operator mounting system also contains tabs integrated into the bumper or rear of the vehicle or trailer that acts as stops, preventing any unwanted vertical movement of the mounting system while in transit.

  • Patent number: 5333937
Abstract: An excavating machine having a cutter head which is provided with both reciprocating impact hammers and a static pick. The impact hammers are mounted on either side of the static pick so as to flank this, and the tip of this can be extended or retracted relative to the tips of the hammers. The ripper pick can thus scarf out a mound of earth left between the two impact hammers, or can be extended to cut a channel into which the impact hammers then drive the adjacent material. The impact hammers can be tilted relative to the axis of the ripper pick so that their tips either precede or follow that of the pick as they are moved across the working face. The cutter assembly may be mounted to a tracked vehicle so as to extend forwardly from this for continuous mining, or laterally from this for long wall mining.

  • Patent number: 5226488
Abstract: A truck mounted boring system providing a high degree of radial and longitudinal freedom. The system provides a method of quickly setting up a boring system used for directional drilling of underground cabling bore holes. A hydraulic system providing power to the boring system is run by a power take off of a truck. The truck is used to position the boring system. The boring system employs a rotatably mounted hydraulic actuator which radially and axially changes the orientation of the drilling system. The drill bit is driven into a boring hole using a linear chain drive. The chain drive is mounted on a boring platform that can achieve motion relative to the truck or drive the drill toward the bore hole in response to a restraining bar.
