Abstract: Galloping motion disruptors and methods for reducing conductor galloping are provided. A galloping motion disruptor includes a first disruptor rod and a second disruptor rod. Each of the first and second disruptor rods includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and a mid-section between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first end portion includes a helical gripping section. The second end portion includes a hook section. The hook sections of the first and second disruptor rods are connectable to each other.
Abstract: An end fitting having a bore that forms a sleeve for the shank of an electrical insulator of composite structure. The bore has a substantially frustoconical wall that flares away from the bore opening towards the end wall of the bore and has an annular swelling directed towards the inside of the bore. This complex shape for the wall of the bore contributes to reinforcing the strength of the fixing between the end fitting and the shank by interference due to heat shrinking.
Abstract: An insulated link using new castable insulating materials and interim molds. A strong, insulating cast dielectric is assembled with metal plates to form a core assembly. A low viscosity bonding compound introduced into the core prior to casting an outer dielectric jacket eliminates the formation of air pockets. This construction provides a link that can support heavy loads and that has strong dielectric properties. The simplified method of construction of the link increases manufacturing yields, as well as the durability, ultraviolet resistance, and electrical resistance of the link.
