The system provides that the measurement of the deflection of said loading plate is carried out with the aid of suitable sensors, and that the estimated weight is obtained through the modeling of the flexing of said loading plate depending on the weight of the vehicle passing over. The invention discloses a particularly advantage configuration to achieve a weighing system that can be modelled with the required accuracy.

    Abstract: A load suspension and weighing system for a removable reservoir unit of a portable dialysis machine includes a centrally located flexure assembly. The flexure assembly includes magnets and a number of flexure rings which allow for movement of the magnets about a fixed circuit board. The magnetic field changes produce a voltage output which is used by a processor to generate weight calculations. The top of the flexure assembly is attached to the interior of the dialysis machine. The entirety of the reservoir unit is suspended by a first internal frame that is attached to the bottom of the flexure assembly. Having a single flexure assembly positioned above the reservoir unit provides more accurate weight measurements while also preventing damage to the assembly from water spillage.

    Abstract: A system for weighing a load is disclosed. The weighing system includes a pad having at least one transducer for weighing a load disposed on the pad. In some embodiments the pad has a plurality of foot members and the weighing system may include a plate that disposed underneath the pad for receiving the plurality of foot member and for aligning the foot members when the weighing system is installed. The weighing system may include a spacer disposed adjacent the pad and in some embodiments, a spacer anchor operatively secures the spacer to a support surface, such as a plate, a railway bed, or a roadway. In some embodiments the spacer anchor operatively secures both the spacer and the pad to a roadway.

    Abstract: A handle-scale includes a luggage-scale for calculating a weight of a piece of luggage that is built into a carry-handle having weight-release slides and/or metal hinges. Scale functionality may be enclosed within the carry-handle. The luggage-scale may have a digital readout display, such as a touch screen, that changes color once weight is calculated. The handle-scale may be movable between a first and a second vertical position with respect to the piece of luggage during use. The handle-scale may include an outer shell that protects the digital readout by withdrawing the digital readout from an exterior of the handle-scale such that when a user grips the handle, the hand of the user does not touch the digital readout. The handle-scale may separately display a measurement scale, and whole and partial units of the calculated weight. The handle-scale may have an undulating outer exterior to facilitate gripping and manually lifting.

A slight increase in the thickness of a an upper, flexibly-deformable metal plate in a thin, flexibly-deformable plate system coupled with a change in the transverse locations of the load cells provides the improved weigh-in-motion scale, which is capable of weighing substantially heavier loads than previously known weigh-in-motion scales. In use, as weight is applied to the weigh-in-motion scale, the upper flexibly-deformable metal plate elastically bends. The strain gauges thus provide a changing resistive value proportional to the bending of the flexible element and the weight applied, to generate signals to the Wheatstone bridge circuit, which then provides output signals from the Wheatstone bridge circuit, which are proportional to the force applied to the upper flexibly-deformable metal plate.

In a strapless variant one or more fasteners prevents substantially all rotation of a foot member.
