  • Patent number: 11696532
Abstract: A baler includes a chamber having a fixed size that receives crops and houses a formed bale. A tailgate is connected to a frame and is movable between a closed position, for cooperating with the frame to delimit the chamber, and an open position, for discharging the formed bale. A conveying assembly delimits the chamber for imparting a rotating movement to the crops contained in the chamber, and has a first portion provided in the frame and a second portion provided in the tailgate. An actuator includes a closing chamber and moves the tailgate from the open position to the closed position upon receiving an actuating fluid in the closing chamber. A binder binds the formed bale, and a pressure sensor detects a control signal representative of a pressure inside the closing chamber of the actuator. A control unit generates an alert signal as a function of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 8370031
Abstract: A digging machine. The machine includes a rod having a central bore with at least two strain gauges angled relative to each other, a hoist rope, and a CPU configured to create a calibration table of a plurality of outputs from each of the two strain gauges, given various rope tensions and rope angles, determine an unknown rope tension and rope angle, use the output from one strain gauge and create a first set of data point angle and tension pairs from plurality of calibration outputs that correspond to the one output from one strain gauge, use the output from the other strain gauge and create a second set of data point angle and tension pairs from the plurality of calibration outputs that correspond to the one output from other strain gauge, and determine, based on where said two sets of data points intersect, rope tension and rope angle.

  • Patent number: 5308933
Abstract: A truck scale has a weighbridge built with two parallel beams for carrying the wheels of a truck. The beams are laterally interconnected, and are each narrower than half the width of the weighbridge, so there is a gap at the center between the beams. Each beam rests directly on load cell devices supported by foundation members. In very long scales each beam is composed of shorter sections, each supported by a pair of load cell devices. The gap in the center of the weighbridge is covered by removable cover plates or blocks, which may have side walls extending above the beams to limit the lateral travel of truck wheels on the scale.

  • Patent number: 5170854
Abstract: A T-shaped seal is disclosed for installation in the gap between a scale pit wall and a scale platform to prevent entry of foreign matter into the area below the platform. An upright stem of the seal is provided on its sides with vertically spaced ribs which may flex during installation between the scale pit wall and the platform edge. The ribs prevent upward dislodgement of the seal against all but intentional efforts and provide additional barriers to foreign material. The stem is of a flexible nature to accomodate irregular pit wall and scale surfaces. A ventilator is shown for installation within an opening formed in the flange portion of the seal and serves to permit the circulation of air beneath the platform while preventing the entry of material into the gap between the scale platform and pit wall.
