Abstract: A collecting chute of a combination weigher has three discharge paths and can discharge objects so as to not get stuck in a discharge path. The collecting chute includes an inner funnel which discharges in an inward direction, a right outer funnel which discharges in an outward direction from the hoppers in a right group, and a left outer funnel which discharges in an outward direction from the hoppers in a left group, and a right chute member in which an edge of the right outer funnel is coupled to an outer surface of a right funnel section constituting the inner funnel and a left chute member in which an edge of the left outer funnel is coupled to an outer surface of a left section constituting the inner funnel are removably mounted to a frame.

  • Patent number: 5811739
Abstract: A bale weighing device for use with a mobile baler is disclosed. The weighing device comprises a support structure which is attached to the baler and pivotably supports a pivot shaft. Two balance arms are rigidly attached to the pivot shaft and support a bale chute. One of the balance arms has a forward end and a rear end which form an angle in the balance arm. The bale chute is attached to the baler by a double hinge which allows the bale chute to move vertically relative to the baler. When a bale is resting in the bale chute, the forward end of the balance arm moves upward and a pointer indicates the relative weight of the bale on a gauge. An electronic position sensor may also be used to indicate the weight of the bale.

  • Patent number: 5742010
Abstract: A hay baler scale is provided for automatically weighing hay bales as they emerge from a hay baler. It includes a weighing platform attached to opening of a chute of the hay baler, and a controller with a display. When a hay bale emerges from the baler, it is rotated a quarter turn by the chute and ejected onto the weighing platform. The controller is programmed to wait until the bale has stopped bouncing by ignoring the first readings, take multiple samples of the bale's weight, and show the average on the display in about 0.75 second. The controller thus ensures that a reasonably accurate weighing is performed despite the weighing platform being attached to a moving and vibrating hay baler. In a second embodiment, the weighing platform is attached to the top of a chute, so that the bales slide onto the platform without turning.

  • Patent number: 5677517
Abstract: In a gravimetric weighing hopper, an infeed chute on the fixed hopper frame and a removable annular wall supported by a load cell are formed with respective annular edges which are angled relative to their aligned axes or are correspondingly notched or otherwise have annular portions about at least approximately one-half of their respective annular extents which are spaced axially from their remaining annular extents to enable the removable cylindrical wall to be spaced in close surrounding relation to the feed chute during normal operation and also to be readily manipulated relative to the feed chute when necessary or desired to be removed from the hopper.

  • Patent number: 5646374
Abstract: A vibratory conveyor for a combination weigher or the like includes an elongated trough having inlet and outlet ends and a pair of upwardly extending and outwardly flared side walls. The conveyor also includes a pair of ramps for lifting and slowing a flow of particulate material as it is conveyed along the length of the conveyor. A first of the ramps includes a relatively flat base portion and two sloping side portions that converge at the apex of a V-shaped end portion to bias the flowing material toward the center of the trough. A second ramp has a relatively flat portion and further slows the flow of material so that it drops off of the outlet end of the conveyor in a mere trickle.

  • Patent number: 5545856
Abstract: A product distribution system includes a cone shaped member for receiving a mass of solid flowable product thereon and a pair of concentric downwardly extending cylindrical walls. A top portion of the first of the downwardly extending cylindrical walls is adjacent to and abutting the base of the cone shaped member. A plurality of circularly arranged electromagnetic feeders which extend outwardly in a radial direction from the cone shaped member are disposed below the cone shaped member at the bottom of the first cylindrical wall, and in close proximity thereto, for moving product away from the first cylindrical wall and toward a plurality of circularly arranged weigh hoppers. The second cylindrical wall or retaining member has a diameter which is greater than the first cylindrical wall and together with the first wall forms a circular trough at the base of the cone shaped member.

  • Patent number: 5191947
Abstract: A weighing pan 17 for weighing subportions of products to be packaged batchwise, in particular for use in combination weighing of irregularly shaped and comparatively fragile commodities of fruits and vegetables. The pan has a discharge opening covered by a front wall and which is opened by a pivot movement of a bottom flap (1) between a products collecting position and a discharging position. The weighing pan is designed to collect individual product units substantially arranged in a single row on the bottom flap (1) and the bottom flap (1) extending throughout the length of the weighing pan slopes downwardly in the discharging position towards the discharge opening at such an angle that the collected product units are discharged by a substantially sliding movement.
