Abstract: A method for remotely directing a fishing tournament makes use of a data network over which participants transmit submissions indicating sizes of fish caught. The submissions may include digital images of fish, and size may be determined from a scale established using a reference object depicted in the image. The data network may also be used to register participants and provide them with tournament results. Participants may register for a fishing period, or multiple fishing periods of the tournament, and may be issued a code to be displayed in images of fish. Validation of entries may include an examination of metadata in submitted digital images.

  • Patent number: 9903751
Abstract: The food portion scale is a device that allows for the measurement of individual portions of foodstuffs before a foodstuff is physically portioned. The foodstuff is a scale wherein the platter of the scale is mounted on a fulcrum. The foodstuff is then placed on the food portion scale such that the fulcrum passes underneath the foodstuff dividing the foodstuff into two portions. The food portion scale independently measures the weight of each portion of the food stuff as it is divided by the line of the fulcrum. The foodstuff is then scored along the line of the fulcrum. When the foodstuff is later cut into portions along the score line, the foodstuff will be portioned into portions that match the previously measured weights. The food portion scale comprises a platter, a fulcrum, a plurality of load cells, a plurality of displays, a housing, and a control system.

Abstract: Transport device for a scale, in particular a dynamic scale that preferably operates with electromagnetic force compensation, with a weighing belt that forms a preload for a weighing cell. The weighing belt is constructed to transport materials to be weighed along the X-direction while weighing. The weighing belt receives the materials from a supply device arranged in an upstream inlet area, including a supply belt or supply rollers for supporting the materials and not forming a preload for the weighing cell. Two weighing-guide elements extending in the X-direction and forming a preload provide lateral support of the materials in the Y-direction to weigh the materials during the transport on the weighing belt in the leaning position. The minimum Y-distance between the weighing-guide elements is greater than the maximum extent of the materials in the Y-direction.

Abstract: A trolley case including a case body and a weight monitoring device. The weight monitoring device is mounted on the case body, including a pressure sensor, a transmission unit, and a display module. The pressure sensor is mounted on the case body, and supports the case body when using. When being applied by a pressure, the pressure sensor transmits the pressure to a corresponding electrical signal according to an intension of the pressure. The intension of the electrical signal is corresponding to the intension of the pressure. The transmission unit is electrically connected to the pressure sensor, and transmits the electrical signal into a corresponding weight value. The display module is electrically connected to the transmission unit for display the weight value.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for reducing erroneous weighing of items by detecting items extending beyond a peripheral edge of a weigh platter associated with a data reader. For example, in response to a weigh request a scale guard module acquires data indicative of whether an item extends between the weigh platter and another surface, compares the acquired data to reference data, and based on the comparison, determines whether an item extends off the weigh platter and thus on to another surface. The scale guard module may utilize non-electromagnetic compression waves, radio waves, a portion of a data reader's scan field to scan a set of patterns extending along at least one edge of the weigh platter, an imaging based scanner to capture an image of at least one edge of the weigh platter, light beams extending along at least one edge of the weigh platter, or any combination thereof.

Abstract: Weight is used to help identify key and ring combinations authorized to certain persons. This is done by associating a weigh scale with each storage box for key and ring combinations, all of which have different total weights. The weights of all the key and ring combinations are registered with a computer, along with authentication and storage information. Then as key and ring combinations are removed from or returned to a storage box, they are weighed on scale 25 so that a computer can compare the scale weight with a registered weight. For any discrepancy, the computer can initiate one of many security actions.
