Publication number: 20140138165Abstract: An integrated steering control system includes a primary, automatic and rear control valves. A steering wheel operates the primary steering control valve and is of a type which includes a leakage characteristic. Steering wheel movement is sensed and a signal is sent which results in the automatic steering control valve being operated for adding fluid that supplied to a steering cylinder by the primary steering control valve in order to compensate for leakage, the amount of added fluid being a function of vehicle ground speed. Patent number: 8670887Abstract: A vehicle in which a drive state can be favorably selected in a configuration that separately and independently drives front and rear wheels and a method for controlling the vehicle. In the vehicle and control method thereof, a drive state control device prohibits operation of a first switch between front wheel drive (FWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) and a second switch between rear wheel drive (RWD) and AWD when a lateral acceleration related value of the vehicle exceeds a first threshold value G1. The first threshold value G1 is set with a divergence reference value Gref as a reference. The Gref value is determined considering factors such as lateral acceleration, turning characteristics and the drive state of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2013Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Nishimori, Satoshi Andou, Masayuki Kikuchi

Patent number: 8668033Abstract: A work vehicle includes a pair of electric motors independently running and driving right and left running wheels in a state of being able to create straight running state and turning running; a pair of right and left change speed operation tools independently manually operated and performing a change speed operation to the right and left running wheels; and a controller controlling operation. The controller controls the operation of the respective electric motors by setting target speeds with regard to the respective electric motors such that the speed difference in the target speeds is smaller than the speed difference corresponding to the difference in the operation positions of the respective change speed operation tools by a set amount in a case where the operation positions of the respective change speed operation tools are different between right and left.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2011Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Kubota CorporationInventors: Kazuo Koike, Hirokazu Ito

Patent number: 8666582Abstract: A vehicle steering feel improving apparatus is provided for a vehicle, wherein the vehicle is capable of running with a road wheel driven by a driving force from a power source. The vehicle steering feel improving apparatus includes a steering operation detecting means that detects a condition that steering operation is being performed to steer a steerable wheel of the vehicle. A driving force fluctuating means repeatedly fluctuates the driving force to the road wheel, while the steering operation detecting means is detecting the condition that steering operation is being performed.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2011Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yusuke Kageyama, Kazuhito Kato

Patent number: 8662212Abstract: A four wheel drive system for bilaterally symmetric vehicles has separate controlled drive speed and direction for each wheel. Each drive system is operable to independently drive each wheel. The rear wheels of the vehicle are steering wheels which are connected with the vehicle frame for independent rotation about a vertical axis. Steering and driving of the wheels is controlled by a controller. The combination of controlled steering for the rear wheels through many degrees about their vertical axes and individual power to all four wheels provides the vehicle with a zero turning radius for improved mobility as well as improved traction on unstable surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2010Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Inventor: Thomas Towles Lawson, Jr.

Patent number: 8640812Abstract: The present disclosure provides a front axle of a vehicle including a motor disposed near the center of the axle and a shaft coupled at one end thereof to the motor, where the shaft defines a first axis. A first gear is coupled to a second gear, the first gear being coupled to the shaft at an end opposite the motor and being disposed along the first axis. The second gear is disposed along a second axis, where the first axis and second axis are substantially parallel to but spaced from one another. A steering pivot defines a steering axis about which a final drive assembly pivots and a wheel lean pivot defines a lean axis about which the final drive pivots. The lean axis is substantially perpendicular to the steering axis. A constant-velocity joint is disposed at the intersection of the steering axis and lean axis.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2012Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Reginald M.
