  • Patent number: 10767659
Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system that utilizes an insulated separation wall that separates the hot, humid EGR gas duct from the cool, dry inlet air duct in the upstream proximity of the compressor inlet of the associated turbocharger compressor. This insulated separation wall inhibits the condensation of water droplets and the formation of ice particles near the mixing point of the EGR gases and inlet air in the upstream proximity of the compressor inlet, such that the turbocharger compressor wheel, blades, and other components are not subsequently damaged by the condensed water droplets or formed ice particles. The added insulation in this cold sink area essentially thermally isolates the hot, humid EGR gas flow from the cool, dry inlet air flow until the actual mixing point of the flows.

  • Patent number: 9153225
Abstract: A sound enclosure for enclosing a compressor assembly in an assembled state can include at least one cover piece, a shoe member, and a base. The shoe member can include a partial circumferential wall that projects upright from a generally planar portion. One of the partial circumferential wall or the cover piece has a projected portion. The other of the partial circumferential wall or the cover piece has a recessed portion. In the assembled state, the projected portion nests into the recessed portion. The base includes an outer contact area. The shoe member includes an outer perimeter. In the assembled state, the outer contact area is in contact with the outer perimeter of the shoe member.

Abstract: An audio driver cabinet is configured for movement between a first orientation within a storage structure and a second orientation outside the storage structure. The audio driver cabinet includes a side wall structure, a first wall, a second wall and a sound driver. The first wall closes off the first end of the side wall structure. The second wall is attached to an interior surface of the side wall structure between a first end and a second end of the side wall structure. A first audio chamber is defined between the first and second walls within the side wall structure. A second audio chamber is defined between the second wall and an open end of the side wall structure. The sound driver is fixed to the second wall facing the second audio chamber. The second end of the side wall structure be an open end or can be sealed.

  • Patent number: 9058799
Abstract: Sound diffusers are important components in enhancing the quality of room acoustics. The present disclosure relates to a sound diffuser obtained by using properties of the cymatics phenomena. Cymatics is the study of sound and vibration made visible, typically on the surface of a plate, diaphragm or membrane. Two examples of diffusers are designed by the cymatic shapes and modeled by using a quadratic quadratic residue sequence. It is found that this type of acoustic diffusers can be used to maintain the acoustic energy in a room and at the same time can treat unwanted echoes and reflections by scattering sound waves in many directions. The design allows for creating different interior space designs by changing the arrangement of the diffuser panels, and this leads to different applications for the diffusers.

  • Publication number: 20150144420
Abstract: A distal end of an inserted pole makes contact with a bottom surface or tapering surface of a portion corresponding to a bottom of an insertion hole. A lever rotates about a pivot shaft, and a pressing surface facing from a recessed portion formed in the insertion hole presses a side surface portion of the pole. The pole pressed by the pressing surface is mainly received by ridge portions, particularly the ridge portions positioned on the opposite side with a central axis therebetween in relation to the pressing surface. The ridge portions are positioned on both sides of the pole with the cross section along the line A-A therebetween as viewed in the axial direction. As the lever is rotatably operated in the tightening direction, the pressing position gradually approaches the central axis, thereby increasing the pressing force.

  • Patent number: 8967323
Abstract: The enclosure comprises a seven-sided prism on which loudspeakers or other devices for sound reproduction are mounted at a substantial angle to each other. Using its primary base, speakers are angled obliquely upward. Speakers mounted on the enclosure can share a single audio signal. Multiple signals can be sent to speakers on different sides of the enclosure. It can be used as a double floor monitor, a wide-dispersion main speaker, a simultaneous combination of double floor monitor and audience-facing main speaker, or a combination of wide dispersion main speaker and a single floor monitor. It reduces the number of speaker enclosures necessary for a stage production. It can be manufactured simply and affordably from many materials using standard construction methods. The enclosure may be useful for any other application where it may be advantageous, including but not limited to, audio speakers for computer, television, radio, or music playback.

  • Patent number: 8953830
Abstract: A horn loudspeaker, in particular for reproducing bass sound in public address systems, in which the horn (23) is mounted directly to the driver element (21) without any intervening compression chamber. The back side of the driver element (21) is covered by a back chamber (24) designed with walls of a semi-permeable material. The walls may be perforated or made of a “leaky” material such as cell foam with open structure, or a fibrous material. The “leaky” back chamber will prevent the build up of high pressures in the back chamber at large cone excursions. The horn loudspeaker is suitable for stacking in groups of two or more, so as to produce a sound source scalable for reproducing any frequency range heard by humans in public address systems or hi-fi systems. Due to the back chamber design, the horn loudspeaker, for high frequencies especially in conical horn shaped versions, can be stacked close together.
