  • Patent number: 7347301
Abstract: An oil refrigeration screw compressor being applied to a refrigeration system etc., in which the problem of strength reduction of a bearing material under high temperatures and that of lifetime reduction of the bearing material due to viscosity lowering of lubricant are solved. A lubricant supply system to a compressor body is divided into a bearing oil supply system for supplying lubricant to each bearing of the compressor body at low pressure and into a temperature control oil supply system for supplying lubricant into the compressor body at high pressure. The bearing oil supply system is a closed circuit oil supply system comprising an oil supply tank, an oil cooler, and an oil supply pump, and the temperature control oil supply system is a closed circuit oil supply system comprising an oil separator and an oil cooler.

Abstract: A breather apparatus of a crankcase, in which lubricating oil is circulated with economy of space and efficiently, is provided. An opening is formed in the top of a vertical wall of a case body, and a breather hole is formed in the top of an outer circumferential wall of the case body. A lubricating-oil return port is formed in the bottom of the vertical wall of the case body, and a breather path communicating with the opening and the lubricating-oil return port is provided between the case body and a power-generator case used as a wall body attached thereto, and an air-breather path branching from the breather path and communicating with the breather hole is provided in the case body. When an oil-component mixed gas flowing through the opening to the outside of the case body hits an inner surface of the breather path, an oil component of the oil-component mixed gas is liquefied and flows into the lubricating-oil return port.

  • Patent number: 7337879
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the cutting or shaping working of metallic or ceramic workpieces and the use of a preferably submerged tool, whereby during the machining process a cooling agent, comprised at least mostly of carbon dioxide (CO2), is supplied to the working position. The invention further relates to a tool for carrying out said method. According to the invention, the cooling in particular of submerges tools may be improved, whereby liquid CO2 under pressure is supplied internally through the tool and released from the tool in the direct vicinity of the actual machining position, expanding through a pressure drop to atmospheric pressure, to give a cooling flow, comprising cold gas and ice particles.

  • Patent number: 6932856
Abstract: An air or oil dryer module is provided to remove or reduce moisture from a lubricant using a pressurized air supply to inject dry air into a lubricant sump. As the “dry air” or air with a minimized moisture content, gathers moisture from the lubricant a relative humidity sensor detects an increase in air moisture. At a pre-determined relative humidity level, a fresh supply of air is added into the lubricant sump, purging the higher relative humidity level air from the sump. A method of reducing moisture content of a lubricant contained in an enclosed space is also disclosed and is performed by agitating the lubricant, providing a humidity sensor in fluid communication with the enclosed space, measuring the humidity of the enclosed space and comparing the humidity measurement with a pre-selected humidity level, introducing dry air into the enclosed space if the humidity level equals or exceeds the pre-selected humidity level, until the saturated humidity level is less than the pre-selected humidity level.

  • Patent number: 6811383
Abstract: An oil catching device and an oil pump for an internal-combustion engine are provided, having an oil catching housing which is arranged below a crankcase and which has at least two oil collecting spaces, in a first oil collecting space an oil pump being arranged which has two pump stages, at whose two suction stages one oil suction pipe, respectively, is connected. The first oil suction pipe reaches in the first oil collecting space in order to deliver the lubricating oil by way of the delivery side of the first pump stage to the consuming devices, and the second oil suction pipe connected with the second suction stage leads to a second oil collecting space. On its top side, the housing of the oil pump has an opening connected with the delivery side of the second pump stage, by way of which opening, the oil suctioned out of the second oil collecting space is delivered into the first oil collecting space. This achieves a defoaming of the suctioned-off lubricating oil.

Abstract: In an oil-lubricated helium compressor unit, the adsorber can retain all of the oil that might be transferred from the compressor to the adsorber before the system shuts down. No oil is ever transferred or transferable to, for example, the expander in a GM type refrigeration system connected to the unit. The compressor itself will shut down because of a protective switch or seize for lack of oil before any oil carries outside the compressor unit. The unit and the connected refrigeration system can run for more than a selected design life before the compressor shuts down because the limit of oil in the adsorber has been reached. The adsorber can retain as much oil as might leave the compressor over the life of the system plus a safety margin of at least 25%. The adsorber need not be serviced or replaced for the life of the system.
