Abstract: This machine comprises a shaft which is along a prescribed axis, a bearing which bears the shaft, a lubrication chamber which contains the shaft and the bearing and which can store a fluid lubricant, and three through-holes which each pass through a wall surface of the lubrication chamber and which can be opened, wherein: two through-holes (for example, a through-hole or a through-hole) among the three through-holes open to respective spaces on both sides of the lubrication chamber in the axial direction with the bearing sandwiched therebetween; when the lubricant is introduced, at least one of the two through-holes is open as a lubricant introduction hole; and when the lubricant is drained, the two through-holes are open as ventilation holes, and the remaining through-hole (for example, a through-hole) is open as a lubricant drainage hole.

Abstract: A method of operation is provided during which buffer air flows into a buffer cavity in a turbine engine. The buffer cavity surrounds a bearing compartment in the turbine engine. Leakage air flows across a buffer seal device in the turbine engine. The buffer air and the leakage air are combined to provide combined air. The combined air is vented to a pressure sink such that: a pressure of the buffer air within the buffer cavity is maintained at or below a maximum buffer air threshold during operation of the turbine engine; and a flowrate of the leakage air across the buffer seal device is maintained at or above a minimum leakage air threshold during the operation of the turbine engine.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an inflatable pump comprising an inflatable pump body, a plastic air cylinder and a plastic disc. A side of the inflatable pump body is provided with a bracket, the plastic air cylinder and the bracket are connected to each other through rotary joint protrusions and rotary joint holes, and the plastic disc is fastened to a top side of the plastic cylinder. By adopting the inflatable pump of the disclosure, the production and processing of the plastic air cylinder and the plastic disc is more convenient and will not cause environmental pollution. Meanwhile, the plastic air cylinder and the plastic disc can meet structural accuracy requirements of the inflatable pump. Furthermore, the plastic air cylinder and the bracket are connected to each other through rotary joint protrusions and rotary joint holes, no additional fasteners and assembly jigs are needed.
Abstract: A hubcap for a heavy-duty duty vehicle that includes mounting structure that is formed with and cooperates with a side wall of the hubcap to provide a stiff, rigid structure that enables non-cantilevered connection to a wheel hub. The mounting structure can be a plurality of elongated bosses circumferentially spaced about the side wall that are formed with corresponding elongated bolt openings to enable the non-cantilevered attachment to the wheel hub. The elongated bosses cooperate with the hubcap side wall to provide a stiffened or rigid structure between the elongated bolt openings for increased and more uniform clamping force on a sealing gasket between the hubcap and the wheel hub. The hubcap profile provides clearance for removal of an outboard mounted disc brake rotor in heavy-duty vehicle wheel end assemblies that include such rotor configurations. The hubcap may support simple mounting of a hub odometer.

Abstract: A lubrication system for a planetary gear device includes a planetary gear mounted on a planetary gear shaft. The shaft is mounted in a shaft hole that allows the gear to rotate freely about the shaft. Lubricant reservoirs formed as voids or spaces on the inner surface of the shaft hole and outer surface of the shaft provide additional volume for lubricant to lubricate the shaft and shaft hole interface. Abstract: A heating medium supplied to an evaporator is used to heat lubricant oil in a screw compressor before the screw compressor starts up, and no additional heater for heating the lubricant oil in the screw compressor is required. When the screw compressor operates, the heating medium discharged from the evaporator after the evaporator is heated by the heating medium, is used to cool the lubricant oil. The lubricant oil heated by a lubricant oil heat exchanger is directly injected into a motor and a screw rotor so that introduction of a liquid refrigerant into a compressive chamber is reduced when the screw compressor starts up later. The lubricant oil introduced into the motor is discharged toward a lubricant oil storage portion before the screw compressor starts up so that the liquid refrigerant is prevented in advance from being introduced into the screw rotor when the screw compressor starts up.

Abstract: A method for replacing an outer annular ring of a fluid swivel includes a swivel comprising an inner annular ring and an outer annular ring, the rings being located with their adjacent cylindrical surfaces in close proximity for defining a chamber, for receiving a fluid, between peripheral opposing faces of the inner annular ring and the outer annular ring, wherein the inner annular ring is adapted to be connected to an end of a fluid line and wherein the outer annular ring is adapted to be connected to a product piping on the vessel, wherein the method comprises the steps of: removing the outer annular ring, replacing the outer annular ring by means of a first semi-circular element and a second semi-circular element, and fixing the first semi-circular element to the second semi-circular element, by means of a fixing means, to form a replacement outer annular ring of the swivel.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provides an oil balancing apparatus, applied to at least three compressors connected in parallel. The oil balancing apparatus includes a first oil balancing pipe and a second oil balancing pipe. The first oil balancing pipe connects oil sumps of all the compressors, and the second oil balancing pipe only connects oil sumps of oil-rich compressors but not an oil sump of an oil-starved compressor.

Abstract: An oil tank and scavenge pipe assembly of a gas turbine engine comprises a tank, and a scavenge pipe having a discharge portion disposed inside the tank. The discharge portion comprises a first portion having first and second ends. The first end is adapted to connect to an oil return line for receiving a mixture of oil and air. A bend extends from the second end downstream thereof relative to a flow of the mixture of oil and air through the scavenge pipe. The bend is configured to cause stratification of the mixture of oil and air as the mixture of oil and air flows through it. An outlet downstream of the bend delivers the mixture of oil and air to the tank. A method of delivering an oil and air mixture to a rotating oil volume of a tank of a gas turbine engine is also presented.

Abstract: A double seal pump assembly is provided and comprises a pump housing having an inlet and an outlet. An impeller is in communication with the inlet and outlet. The impeller includes an impeller shaft extending outwardly from the housing. The impeller shaft is adapted to engage a drive shaft of a motor. A housing adapter is mounted onto the housing at a first seal and is configured to secure the impeller to the housing. A motor adapter is mounted to the housing adapter at a second seal thereby defining a cavity therebetween. The motor adapter is configured to mount the motor and the cavity is configured to be filled with a barrier fluid. An accumulator is in fluid communication with the cavity and is adapted to hold a reserve barrier fluid so as to maintain barrier fluid volume and pressure within the cavity.
Abstract: A lubricating system for supplying at least one lubricating point with lubricant is described. The lubricating system is equipped with at least one feed device and at least one line extending between this feed device and a lubricating point. In order to very easily and effectively monitor and indicate the severance of a lubricant line, an electrical connection is respectively provided on the feed device and the lubricating point. An electric conductor extending between the two connections is assigned to the line. A monitoring device is assigned to the line in such a way that it generates a signal when the electric conductor is interrupted. The invention furthermore pertains to a vehicle, particularly a construction machine, which is equipped with such a lubricating system.

Abstract: A technique for making air less likely to enter a strainer in an internal combustion engine in which the strainer is supported by a drain bolt. In an internal combustion engine in which a drain bolt supports a strainer and is configured to discharge a drain is attached to a bottom of a sump. A drain hole into which the drain bolt is screwed and a strainer hole are arranged coaxially. A crankcase is provided with an oil passage through which oil is returned to the sump. The oil passage includes a first passage through which the oil flows in a direction away from the strainer, a return passage that turns around from a forefront end of the first passage, and a second passage through which the oil flows from a forefront end of the return passage toward the strainer.
Abstract: In an embodiment, a bearing assembly may include a support ring to which one or more superhard bearing elements may be mounted. The support ring may include one or more relief features configured to reduce residual stresses in the superhard bearing elements that are induced by brazing the superhard bearing elements to the support ring, operational loads, other processes, or combinations of the foregoing. Reducing the residual stresses in the superhard bearing elements may help prevent damage to the superhard bearing elements. The bearing assembly may be used in subterranean drilling systems and/or other types of systems.
