Patent number: 7677207Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine has a circular inner chamber, which houses a plurality of cylinders with reciprocating pistons that move in a radial direction towards and away from the center of the inner chamber. A flywheel with distinct vanes or portions is positioned for rotation about a central axis of the inner chamber. A gear assembly operationally connected to the reciprocating pistons forces the flywheel to rotate and impart torque to a central shaft extending though the inner chamber.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2008Date of Patent: March 16, 2010Inventor: Johnny Nicholson

Patent number: 7631729Abstract: A reciprocating compressor includes a compressing unit placed over a motor unit. A crankshaft, which converts rotating action of the motor unit into reciprocating action of a piston of the compressing unit, has (a) a centrifugal pump provided at a lower section of the crankshaft, and (b) a pair of spiral pumps that communicate with the centrifugal pump and have leading grooves running in opposite directions to each other. The crankshaft also includes a pair of eccentric paths at its upper section. The eccentric paths open into an enclosed container and communicate with the spiral pumps respectively. This structure allows production of greater force for transferring lubricant oil regardless of the rotating direction of the crankshaft.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2003Date of Patent: December 15, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Koichi Tsuchiya, Kazuhiro Yokota, Atsushi Naruse

Patent number: 7481298Abstract: A lubricating structure for a hydrostatic continuously variable transmission. The structure includes an oil path arranged at an outer circumferential side of a clutch valve, and a lubricant oil ejection hole communicating with the outer circumferential side oil path of the clutch valve and formed in the transmission shaft toward the outer circumference of the transmission shaft. In addition, the structure includes a communicating oil path that is also formed in the transmission shaft for communicating between an oil feeding passage communicating with an lubricant oil feeding source and the outer circumferential oil path of the clutch valve. A single orifice is arranged in the communicating oil path, rather than in the lubricant oil ejection hole. This configuration provides for efficient manufacturing and a high degree of freedom in setting of the lubricant oil ejection hole.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2006Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshihiro Yoshida, Toshimasa Mitsubori, Kenji Sakakibara

Patent number: 6176223Abstract: A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, with a drive shaft which is supported in a pump housing. The drive shaft has an eccentrically embodied shaft section upon which a ring is supported in sliding fashion by means of a bearing bush. The ring cooperates preferably with a number of pistons disposed radially in relation to the drive shaft each in a respective cylinder chamber. The eccentric shaft section and the ring are fixed in the axial direction by means of stop faces and a bearing gap is provided between the bearing bush and the eccentric shaft section into which gap lubricant travels from the inside of the pump housing. The relationship of the parts improves the supply of lubricant to the bearing gap and the hub end faces of the pump housing are embodied as conical so that a wedge-shaped gap is produced which narrows in the direction of the bearing gap.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1999Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Uwe Kuhn, Thomas Schwarz
