  • Patent number: 5934414
Abstract: A lifting apparatus including a base, a load platform, a vertically expandable actuator linkage mechanically coupled between said load platform and said base, and a glycol operated actuator chamber having a compressible bellows. Means are provided for mechanically coupling the compressible bellows between the base or platform and the linkage. This provides an extremely stable platform, and one which remains rock solid once it is set in position, because glycol is a non-compressible fluid and is not affected by normal temperature variations found in industrial settings.

Abstract: A robotic shelf handling apparatus usable with a power lifting device such as a swingreach or forklift which can be used to remove and replace large capacity conventional storage shelves. The shelf handling apparatus defines or pockets or slots for receiving a power lifting device fixedly secured thereinto and is positioned between vertically extending corner stanchions of shelving immediately below its shelf to be removed. The apparatus includes a frame with a shelf deck positioning device vertically movable upwardly therefrom to remove a shelf deck. Further the design includes a lateral stabilization means including a plurality of wheels and guide rollers adapted to engage the vertically extending stanchions of the shelving for maintaining lateral stability of the handling apparatus. Also a support bar positioning device is included which is adapted to hold the support bars used for supporting of the deck plates and removing them from engagement with the vertical stanchions as desired.

Abstract: A scissor lift has a pair of leg assemblies pivotally connected to a base. Relative movement between the legs and the base is opposed by spring assemblies that may be selectively connected to a carriage to vary the bias on the legs. A cam member secured to the leg acts on the carriage to modify the motion between the leg and the carriage to maintain a uniform vertical spring rate.

Abstract: An order picking truck, in particular a high-lift order picking truck, is equipped with a driver's stand (3), a load-picking fork (5) and a wall (11) separating the driver's stand (3) from the load area. The fork (5) is secured on an initial lift device (7, 8, 9, 10) so that it can be moved up and down relative to the driver's stand (3). According to the invention, an additional lift device (17, 18, 20) is provided with which a load on the fork can be raised beyond the highest position of the initial lift device. The fork has two-part fork tines (12, 13) which each have a load picking upper part (13) and a lower part (12) secured to the initial lift device. Each two-part fork tine includes a scissor construction (19) guiding the upper part (13) of the tine parallel with the lower part (12) of the tine.

  • Patent number: 5645141
Abstract: A hoist for roll material surface treatment composes of a lift platform means, a securing means, a hoist means and a transmission means. There are two pairs of spaced bars in the hoist means engagable with two pairs of spaced V-shape blocks in the securing mean allowing the hoist means to load or discharge a roll material supported by the lift platform means. There are rotary shafts in the hoist means for suspending the roll material through the central opening thereof The roll material is compressed between layers at the upper portion and stretched to form loosely gap between layers at the lower portion. The roll material is hoisted and immersed in a processing tank. When rotary shaft and the roll material are driven to rotate by the transmission means, the upper portion of the roll material squeeze out the processing liquid while the lower portion allow processing liquid to sip into the gap and uniformly cover the surface of the roll material. Thus roll material can get a uniform surface treatment.

Abstract: A lifting platform for motor vehicles has at least one scissor-type framework with at least two lower scissor levers that cross each other and two upper scissor levers that cross each other. Either the upper or lower of two pivotably connected scissor levers is configured with a slot shape of a type which opens toward the other scissor lever, and this other scissor lever sinks at least most of the way into this slot when the platform lift is in its lowered position. Instead of a U-shaped slot configuration, the upper or lower of two pivotably connected scissor levers may have an L-shaped profile opening toward the other scissor lever and permitting it to sink into the crook of the L.

Abstract: A hydraulic rear platform lift for an aircraft loader provides for an increased height by providing a pair of lifting levers actuated by a hydraulic cylinder-piston which extends into cutout space of a forward support frame and mates with the scissor type lifting beams of a forward lifting platform. The lifting mechanism generally consists of a chicken leg lever and tension bar with the actuating force provided by a cylinder--piston connected between the chicken leg lever and the other end of the tension bar. For even greater lifting heights, one end of the tension bar may be placed on the leg of the rear scissor beams with appropriate cutouts being provided in the rear support frame and rear elevatable platform.

  • Patent number: 5460460
Abstract: A dock leveler scissors lift system mounted in a pit having back and side walls. The scissors lift mechanism comprises first and second scissors arms mounted on a base frame, one of the arms pinned to the base for pivotal movement and the other of the arms is free to move relative to said base. Hydraulics are employed to raise scissors lift. The scissors lift mechanism further comprises an upper frame having a generally horizontal deck portion. Retractable pins are used to couple said scissors lift mechanism to the pit in the fully raised position. The a dock leveler deck assembly is pivotally mounted to the generally horizontal deck portion of the scissor lift mechanism, and hydraulics coupled to the scissors lift mechanism raises the deck assembly. The scissors lift mechanism includes lip keepers that in one position retain the leveler lip in the pendent position and in a second position support the outboard end of the leveler deck.
