Slidably Mounted Contact Component Patents (Class 187/371)
  • Patent number: 11939189
Abstract: A frictionless electronic safety actuator (100; 202), for use in an elevator system, includes a magnetic plate (104); an electromagnet (102); a linkage (136); a biasing arrangement (106); and a path-constraining arrangement (112). The linkage (136) is actuatable so as to move a safety brake (204) into frictional engagement with an elevator guide rail (206). The linkage (136) is attached to the magnetic plate (104) and is moveable between a first position in which the linkage (136) is actuated and a second position in which the linkage (136) is not actuated. The biasing arrangement (106) is arranged to apply a biasing force to the magnetic plate (104) to bias the magnetic plate (104) towards the first position.

  • Patent number: 8863909
Abstract: A braking device (2) for braking a lift car which moves relative to a lift shaft, having at least one braking module (6) which is provided in order to interact with a device, and having a catch (4) which can be adjusted between two operating positions (36, 360, 38), wherein the catch (4), in a first operating position (36, 360), is connected to the at least one braking module (6) such that the catch (4) transmits a release force (22) to the at least one braking module (6), and wherein the catch (4), in a second operating position (38), is separated from the at least one braking module (6), and the at least one braking module (6) is therefore in contact with the device.

  • Patent number: 8573365
Abstract: An emergency brake apparatus for an elevator system is installed on an elevator cage or a balance weight of the elevator system and includes a grip member with slant surfaces and a pressing surface sandwiching a guide rail, a pressing member disposed movably between the slant surfaces of the grip member and the guide rail, and an electric solenoid connected to the pressing member and actuated by an electric signal. The electric solenoid positions the pressing member away from the guide rail in a non-braking operation while pushing the pressing member between the slant surfaces and the guide rail in a braking operation.

  • Patent number: 8312972
Abstract: Brake equipment for holding and braking an elevator car in an elevator installation, which is arranged to be movable along a brake track in two directions of travel, includes a mount with a brake lining which automatically adjusts under friction couple with the brake track on movement of the elevator car relative to the rail and in that case tightens a first tightening means, which can be released by an actuator. The first tightening means tightens the mount together with the brake lining against the brake track by a biasing force. The brake equipment produces, with unmoved brake equipment and an unreleased state of the actuator, a holding force acting in both directions of travel. The holding force is determined substantially by the biasing force acting on the mount.

  • Patent number: 7644808
Abstract: In an elevator door apparatus, an elevator door is capable of reciprocating between a door closure position for closing an elevator entrance and a door open position for opening the elevator entrance. The elevator door is driven by a door drive device. The door drive device is controlled by a door control device. The door control device adjusts the door open position based on control information for controlling an operation of an elevator, obtains a door opening/closing pattern for the elevator door to be opened and closed between the adjusted door open position and the door closure position, and controls the door drive device so that the elevator door is reciprocated in accordance with the obtained door opening/closing pattern.

  • Patent number: 6863263
Abstract: A device for locking the descent of a reel-holder trolley along a sliding guide under the control of a traction belt in a fixed column winding apparatus. The device includes a clamp connection between belt and trolley, that is attached to the belt and is mobile with respect to the trolley between a first raised position in which the clamp is held by the upward traction exerted by the belt and holds in turn a pair of levers in such a position as not to interfere with side walls of the sliding guide of the trolley and a second position in which it moves automatically by gravity in the event the traction of the belt is released and in which it permits the pair of levers to be elastically stressed in such a position to enter transversally openings of the side walls of the sliding guide of the trolley to lock the descent of the latter.

  • Patent number: 6006867
Abstract: A guide apparatus for guiding and arresting an elevator running on column-like guides automatically prevents a transmission of guide alignment errors to the car and an unintended engagement of the arresting device. A roller carrier for engaging the guide running surfaces is rotationally movably mounted on the car with a center of rotation at the longitudinal axis of the guide so that the roller carrier can follow a twist of the guide about its axis. The roller carrier also mounts an arresting device which is vertically displaceable in a mounting bracket by contact with a buffer on an abutment attached to the elevator car. In the case of an arresting braking of the car, no force is transmitted to the guide apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5931263
Abstract: An elevator safety based on having the elevator lift-rod, under the influence of the elevator governor, cause to rotate approximately elliptical cams, called quasi-elliptical cams. The cams are wider in one orientation, just as an ellipse has a major axis, wider than its minor axis. The cams are positioned to push against a brake pad as they rotate so that the major axis of each cam changes orientation with the minor axis. The cams can be shaped to simulate a wedge-type safety, even one using a wedge with multiple ramp angles. With essentially no additional complexity, the cam safety can be designed to operate with a bi-directional governor, one which exerts, usually through an intermediate linkage, force on the lift-rod in either the up or down motion depending on the unintended motion of the elevator.

  • Patent number: 5433293
Abstract: A vertical-horizontal passenger conveying system includes elevator cars provided with individual drives for travel in intersecting vertical and horizontal shafts. The shafts have fixed and movable vertical guide rails with steps which are engaged by roller chains of the drives wherein more than one car can travel in the same shaft at the same time. The movable rails are latched in a vertical position for vertical travel of the cars and are pivoted out of the way for entrance of a car into an horizontal shaft. Supports on the cars or in the shafts relieve the force applied to the steps through the chains to permit movement of the movable rails. Deflecting and tensioning rollers for the chains have flanges for running on horizontal guide rails in the horizontal shafts.
