Linear Arrangement Patents (Class 188/240)
  • Patent number: 11835098
Abstract: A disc brake device includes a pair of pads, a pad support member supporting at least one of the pair of pads in a movable manner in an axial direction, and a plurality of pistons configured to press the one of the pads toward the rotor in the axial direction. Slide engagement portions engaged with the pad support member so as to be movable in the axial direction are respectively provided at both side portions of the one of the pads in a circumferential direction. The one of the pads is fixed to a tip end portion of at least one piston including a piston arranged at an end portion on a rotation-in side or a rotation-out side among the plurality of pistons, and is not fixed to a tip end portion of a remaining piston.

  • Patent number: 11320011
Abstract: A caliper for an opposed-piston disc brake, includes a pair of bodies provided at two sides of a rotor that rotates with a wheel, each of the bodies including five cylinders. A central cylinder among the five cylinders provided on each of the bodies, which is surrounded by four of the cylinders, has a center which is located in a region on a radially inner side relative to an outer reference circle and on a radially outer side relative to an inner reference line. The outer reference circle passes through a center of a cylinder provided on a radially outermost side among the four of the cylinders and has a center thereof on a center of the rotor. The inner reference line passes through centers of two of the cylinders provided on a radially inner side among the four of the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 11162550
Abstract: A belt-like rib that extends in a peripheral direction is provided to the outer surface, in the axial direction, of an outer body. The inner diameter side sections of the bottoms of outer cylinders at the outer diameter side and the outer diameter side sections of the bottoms of outer cylinders at the inner diameter side, all the cylinders being provided to the outer body so as to be separated into two stages in the radial direction, are covered with the belt-like rib from outside in the axial direction so as to traverse along the peripheral direction. The outer diameter side sections of the bottoms of the outer cylinders at the outer diameter side and the inner diameter side sections of the bottoms of the outer cylinders at the inner diameter side are made to protrude from the belt-like rib in the radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20140124306
Abstract: A device comprising one or more movable links adjacent to and spanning between two opposing brake pads along an axis, wherein the one or more movable links connect the two opposing brake pads so that the brake pads remain in a substantially parallel relationship as the two opposing brake pads move relative to each other along the axis when contacted by a rotor during a free running condition, and wherein dimensions of the one or more movable links remain constant during a brake apply, a brake retract, the free running condition, or a time therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5620063
Abstract: A disc brake caliper is made to receive a series of pads extending circumferentially of the disc. Each pad is pressurised by a pair of pistons including a smaller piston located radially outwardly and a larger piston located radially inwardly. All of the pistons and cylinders are connected together for common hydraulic pressurization. The arrangement provides better distribution of the braking force, and greater equalization of pad wear. The relatively greater area of pistons as compared to the pad area also contributes towards more even braking force, whilst the smaller diameter pistons and cylinders, as compared to what would be necessary if only a single piston and cylinder were used, enables shorter cylinder length and hence a slimmer and lighter caliper without risk of pistons tilting and jamming.

  • Patent number: 4267902
Abstract: Two beams of a railway car retarder which are located on opposite sides of a track rail are provided with brake shoes in the form of segments. The segments are positioned in recesses on the inside longitudinal sides of the beams. The recesses are separated from one another by web ribs. The segments are form-closed with the longitudinal recesses of the beams and fixedly located therein. By means of this braking system the squeaking sounds arising during the braking operation are substantially reduced.
