  • Patent number: 8590107
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuator, including at least one pivotably supported actuating arm for moving a furniture flap. The actuating arm is or can be acted on by a spring device, and a retaining clip is proposed for the empty actuating arm on which no furniture flap is mounted yet. The retaining clip prevents accidental opening or deflecting of the empty actuating arm and for this purpose includes a brake or detent device which can be moved by a shaft (R). A transmission gear is provided by which the pivot speed of the actuating arm can be geared to a higher rotational speed of the shaft (R) at least over a region of the pivot travel of the actuating arm in the open direction.

  • Patent number: 8122786
Abstract: Locking arrangement for locking a first element which is movably mounted in a first direction, by means of a second element which is movably mounted in a second direction transversely with respect to the first direction. First element has a toothed contour with at least two teeth and a tooth gap which lies between. Second element has a projection which has a projection length which is shorter than the tooth gap length. The projection can be introduced into tooth gap when there is movement in the second direction, to lock the first element. Each tooth has a face which points towards the second element and has a first contour. Projection has a face which points towards the first element and has a second contour. First and second contours are matched to one another so that the projection is deflected by the teeth from becoming inserted into tooth gap if first element moves faster than a predetermined locking speed and slower than a maximum speed of first element.

  • Patent number: 7562757
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating device for moving a flap of a piece of furniture, including at least one actuating arm for moving the flap, a base member on which the actuating arm is pivotally arranged, and a spring device able to act upon the actuating arm. An assembly securing device for the vacant actuating arm, which has not yet been fitted with a flap, includes a braking device which limits the opening speed of the vacant actuating arm.

  • Patent number: 7219775
Abstract: A fan rotor is mounted on a shaft carried on bearings attached to a base plate and there is provided an assembly for preventing reverse rotation of the fan which could damage the motor. A stop plate is mounted on the base adjacent the shaft with an edge adjacent the shaft. A pair of wing members are carried on the shaft on two collar pieces so that each wing member is pivotal between ends of the collar pieces about an axis parallel to the tangent to the shaft at the wing member. The wing members are V-shaped and pivot so that one leg moves under gravity either in the vertical or horizontal orientations of the shaft from a retracted position, in which it is free from the stop plate to an extended position in which it engages the abutment surface of the stop member to prevent reverse rotation. The wing members are shaped and weighted such that rotation of the shaft beyond a predetermined angular velocity causes centrifugal force to move the wing members to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7048096
Abstract: An incremental braking apparatus and method includes a first rotating member having a plurality of rigid stops spaced circumferentially around an outer cylindrical surface of the first rotating member, and a plurality of flexible stops arranged in a plurality of rows on a stationary member. The flexible stops are selectively movable toward the first rotating member from a disengaged position into an engaged position in which the flexible stops engage the rigid stops to provide a braking action on the first rotating member. An actuator with a beveled edge for engaging the outer ends of the flexible stops is operable to move a selected number of rows of the flexible stops into their engaged positions to provide an incremental braking effect. The rows of flexible stops are staggered such that the flexible stops in adjacent rows are not in circumferential alignment.

  • Patent number: 6394255
Abstract: A rotary motion limiting arrangement includes a stationary component, a rotating component rotatable in opposite directions relative thereto, a pair of stops movably mounted on the stationary component for establishing a first set of opposite limits to rotational movement of the rotating component, and a link fastened to the stops such that, as one stop is moved between extended and retracted positions across and outside of a path of revolution of a lug on the rotating component the other stop is moved oppositely between retracted and extended positions. A braking mechanism is positioned, upon electrical energization, to halt rotation of the rotating component. Switches situated adjacent to the link and rotating component are electrically connected to the braking mechanism for establishing a second set of opposite limits to rotational movement of the rotating component within the limits of the first set.
