Abstract: A process for operating an air-jet spinning device such that after a spinning interruption the yarn end of the spun yarn accumulated on a take-up package is picked up by a suction nozzle and transferred to a yarn end preparation device. The yarn end is processed in the yarn end preparation device and is then transferred to a first area of an outlet opening of the spinning cone, the yarn end is pneumatically transported to a second area of an inlet opening of the spinning cone and is positioned there within the air-jet spinning device at a distance in front of the inlet opening, the drafting system of the relevant workstation is raised and the sliver is conveyed through a sliver guide of the nozzle block into the second area of the inlet opening of the spinning cone and there spun onto the prepared yarn end of the spun yarn.

Abstract: A top roller carrier for drafting systems in spinning machines with at least one pair of feed rollers, one pair of apron rollers and one pair of output rollers as top rollers and with holding devices for the top rollers, and wherein the top rollers are rotatably mounted on the ends of axles which are held centrally between the top rollers. According to the present invention, a common holding device is provided for the axle of the output rollers and the axle of the apron rollers and is movably connected to the top roller carrier and fixes the two axles at a rigid spacing with respect to one another.
Abstract: A locating frame for drawing and compacting units of a pair of adjacent spinning stations in a spinning machine where each drawing unit has a pressure roller which supplies the bundle of fibres to the compacting unit and which rotates a pressure roller of the compacting unit, by means of a belt transmission.
Abstract: A spinning machine for the doubling or stretching of fiber bands with a rolling section having lower rolls which are secured in journal blocks, and wherein the upper rolls may be also secured on said journal blocks with pressure means for the loading of said upper rolls, it is proposed that the pivoting axis of the pressure arm for the placement of the pressure means to the upper rolls be arranged in such a way that, when observed in the running direction of the fiber band, said axis lies behind the rolling section. Advantageously, what is achieved thereby, is that the spinning machine can be maintained in a considerably simpler and quicker manner. Following the upward pivoting of the pressure arm, the entire area of the rolling section becomes freely accessible. The pivoting geometry of the pressure arm can be so varied, that the upper rolls can be easily restored into the guides on the journal blocks of the lower rolls.

Abstract: First and second slivers (6, 5) are pieced together by the following steps: overlapping a trailing portion (6a) of a first sliver and a leading portion (5a) of a second sliver; introducing the overlapped portion (5a, 6a) into a drafting zone provided between a pair of lower and upper back rollers (11, 12) and a pair of lower and upper front rollers (13, 14) arranged along a sliver path from upstream to downstream; maintaining the peripheral speeds of the back and front rollers (11, 12; 13, 14) at the same speed, so that no draft is imparted to the overlapped portion until a leading end of the overlapped portion has reached the nip zone of the front rollers (13, 14); increasing only the peripheral speed of the front rollers (13, 14) to impart a predetermined draft to the overlapped portion until a trailing end thereof has passed through a nip zone of the back rollers (11, 12), whereby a thickness of the overlapped portion becomes substantially equal to the original proper sliver thickness; laterally rubbing th
Abstract: A drafting unit for a spinning machine has several stub shaft supported bottom rollers which are each assigned to a spinning point and which are in driving connection with drive shafts extending through in longitudinal direction of the machine. To facilitate servicing operations, the bottom rollers are held by means of support components which are detachably mounted at a machine frame which accommodates the drive shafts.
