Abstract: A portable suitcase-type storage case has structural features that enable to stack the case regardless of the surface shape of the bottom and lid casings, without diminishing its pleasing visual appearance of the storage case. A convex-shaped stacking section is provided integrally with the bottom casing at specific locations on a surface of the bottom casing, and a concave-shaped stacking section is provided integrally on a surface of the lid casing at corresponding locations so as to engage with respective convex-shaped stacking sections, in such a way that a radius of curvature of the concave-shaped stacking section is greater than a radius of curvature of the convex-shaped stacking section, and that a center portion of the concave-shaped stacking section is displaced towards outer periphery of the storage case relative to a center portion of the convex-shaped stacking section.

Abstract: A frame bracket for lightweight luggage comprises a U-shaped plastic frame, a fabric frame covered on the U-shaped plastic frame, two L-shaped lower skeletal frame members each having a vertical member provided at the front corners of the bottom to secure the support plate, the plastic frame, and the fabric frame, and a U-shaped support plate provided on the bottom of U-shaped plastic frame. With the enhancement of U-shaped support plate and L-shaped lower skeletal frame members, the purpose of protecting the bottom of luggage and strengthening the structural frame is achieved.

The protective fender has a protection side and a fastening side opposite to the protection side. The protection side is provided with at least one beading or elastic chain, which is partially embedded in the protection side. The protective fender is secured to the outer surface of the luggage shell such that the fastening side of the protective fender is fastened with the outer surface of the luggage shell, and that the beading or elastic chain of the protection side provide the outer surface of the luggage shell with protection against abrasion or impact.

Abstract: A collapsible structure having a plurality of side panels and a floor panel forming an enclosure having an open top. Each side panel comprises a web of material, and an edging material. The collapsible structure includes at least two flexible continuous loop frames which are substantially enveloped by the edging. The edging coupled to the periphery of the web. One or more handles may be attached to the structure or formed within one or more of the side panels. A method of making and collapsing the structure is also disclosed.

Abstract: A flat article carrying case includes corrugated sheet material which substantially wraps about the entire case with the exception of the lateral sides of the case. A handle is attached to the front side of the carrying case. Two frame members, forming the lateral sides of the carrying case, are provided for providing stiffness and rigidity to the case, when covered with corrugated sheet material which is flexible along a direction parallel to the frame members but substantially rigid or stiff in the transverse direction extending between the frame members. However, it will be evident that different covering sheet materials may be used, in which case different numbers of frame members may be needed to provide requisite stiffness or rigidity to the resulting carrying case.

On the one-piece paper board there are 2 horizontal and 4 vertical creases, which partition the board into a top section and a base section with each having right side, left side, front side and back side. The back side is where the top and the base connect with each other. On both the top and the base sections, extended panels are disposed at the two ends of the left side and the right side. Each panel has a pre-pierced hole on the center. When the paperboard is folded into a box shape, the panels are folded inwards, and other pierced holes that correspond to the holes of the panels are also mounted on the front side, right side and left side. Several curved washers with holes thereon are then arranged on the corners of the base and the top, where the front side meets the left side and the right side.

Abstract: A collapsible case comprises a closed loop of flexible sheet material for forming the top, bottom and sidewalls of the case, the loop having front and rear edges defining front and rear openings into the interior of the loop. A pair of similar panels form the front and rear walls of the case, each panel including a sheet of flexible material having a perimeter, stiffeners attached to the sheet so as to tension and stiffen the sheet into a selected shape and fasteners for fastening the perimeter of the sheet to the corresponding edge of the loop so that when the panels are fastened to the loop, the loop assumes the selected shape and when said panels are unfastened from the loop and the stiffeners are detached from the sheets, the loop and sheets may be collapsed and consolidated.

In the retracted position, the gripping member of the pull handle is received into a handle receptacle recessed into the top portion of the wall member. A closure secures the pull handle inside the handle receptacle to prevent accidental extension of the pull handle.

Abstract: A frame work for soft-sided luggage comprises a U-shaped base structure that can be engaged with a U-shaped upper structure and/or a metal frame. The U-shaped upper structure or the metal frame serves to support a luggage configuration at the upper portion. The U-shaped base structure is provided with reinforcing ribs to increase the luggage rigidity, and also has wheel bases that can accommodate wheels for trailing the luggage. Guide grooves and guide bands are also provided on the U-shaped base structure to accommodate the metal frame when required. The U-shaped base and upper structures can be injection molded as standardized components that allow constructions of luggage with different structural configurations.

Abstract: A retractable handle and wheel assembly includes a flat handle mounting frame and a circularly arched wheel mounting frame joined together and mounted on the back and bottom panel of a collapsible travel bag. Two wheel holders are respectively fastened to the wheel mounting frame each wheel holder having a wheel coupling portion fitted over a respective recessed hole on the wheel mounting frame to hold a respective wheel by a bearing and a channel bar bearing block fixedly fastened to the handle mounting frame to hold a respective channel bar, with a retractable handle sliding in an out of the channel bars, the retractable handle having two rubber blocks at two adjacent ends for positioning the handle at either end of each channel bar to hold the handle in the collapsed or extended out position.

Abstract: An article of soft luggage, preferably a folding garment bag, has a soft shell forming outer walls, with wheels on the outer bottom wall and a flange and pocket engagement that fixes the bottom walls together when the bag is folded. The bottom wall is partitioned into left and right portions due to folding over of the ends of the bag, which has an inverted U-shape when closed and resting on the wheels. To stiffen the bottom walls of the left and right portions, and provide a mounting for the wheels, relatively stiffer gussets are affixed to the left and right cooperative portions, respectively. The two cooperative portions are connected by a flexible closure such as a zipper when the bag is closed. The zipper or the like defines a flexible seam that normally would permit the cooperative portions to be displaced relative to one another, for example rotating around the longitudinal axis of the zipper, interfering with positioning of the wheels mounted on each cooperative portion.
