  • Patent number: 6626273
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake disk comprising two friction rings which are connected via links and between which an air channel is configured, as well as support elements which are molded to the inner peripheral area of the brake disk and designed for engaging cams of a hub of an axle of a (utility) vehicle. In the inner peripheral area of the brake disk, the support elements bridge the air channel in the manner of links and axially protrude into the area of the friction rings to such an extent that the outer surfaces of the friction rings are situated at an axial distance from the outer surfaces of the support elements even in the maximum permissible state of wear. Openings in the axle hub and the brake disk ensure sufficient cooling.

Abstract: A motor vehicle clutch has at least one flywheel (4a) equipped with fan blades (34) at least in a zone that is radially between a hub (54) and a solid ring portion with a friction surface (48). The clutch is configured so that the fan blades of the rotating flywheel will generate an air stream to flow over the surface portion of the flywheel on the opposite side from the friction surface for efficient cooling of the clutch.

Abstract: A magnet type fan clutch apparatus is formed of an electromagnetic clutch mounted on one driving shaft, and a magnet coupling operatively connected to the electromagnetic clutch. The magnetic coupling includes a permanent magnet rotary body to which a fan is fixed, and a disc having a conductor or a hysteresis member opposed to the permanent magnet rotary body with a narrow clearance left therebetween; and formed so that the permanent magnet rotary body and disc are rotated together or relatively owing to an attraction working between the permanent magnet and conductor. The magnetic coupling is formed so as to be ON/OFF controlled by the electromagnetic clutch, and a seal structure is provided between the disc and permanent magnet rotary body.

  • Patent number: 6193041
Abstract: In an electromagnetic clutch having a rotating component, groove portions (21a, 21b) are made on a surface of the rotating component to induce air flow during rotation of the rotating component. The air flow enhances radiation of heat from the electromagnetic clutch. It is preferable that the groove portion is formed at each of axial ends of a driving rotor or pulley (12) included as the rotating component in the electromagnetic clutch.
