  • Patent number: 11408488
Abstract: The present invention relates to a two-stage transmission for an electrically driven vehicle including a dog clutch and a friction clutch, and an object of the present invention is to prevent a torque drop when shifting gears. The two-stage transmission for the electrically driven vehicle includes a planetary gear mechanism (12), a dog clutch (28), a friction clutch (30), an armature (26) to switch between the dog clutch (28) and the friction clutch (30), and an electromagnetic coil (31) to drive the armature (26). In the dog clutch (28) and the friction clutch (30), the coupling relationship among the rotational elements of the planetary gear mechanism (12) is set such that the dog clutch (28) is fastened and the friction clutch (30) is not fastened in speed reduction (the first speed), and the dog clutch (28) is not fastened and the friction clutch (30) is fastened in speed increase (the second speed).

  • Patent number: 10822052
Abstract: A bicycle shifting device includes a first transmission unit, a second transmission unit, a coupling member and a release unit. The first transmission unit includes a first rotational body, to which human power is transmitted. The second transmission unit includes a second rotational body coupled to the first rotational body and a rotational shaft rotatably supporting the second rotational body. The coupling member is movable relative to the second rotational body in an axial direction of the rotational shaft and configured to couple the second rotational body and the rotational shaft so that the human power transmitted from the first transmission unit is transmitted to the rotational shaft through the second rotational body. The release unit uncouples the second rotational body from the rotational shaft by moving the coupling member in the axial direction using the human power transmitted from the first transmission unit.

  • Patent number: 10550899
Abstract: A transmission for a manually operated wheeled machine includes an output shaft having a close-ended axial channel. A drive gear mounted on the output shaft includes an engaging groove. A ratchet is received in the channel and is in engagement with the engaging groove. A holder mounted on the output shaft includes a relief that receives the ratchet. A friction member applies radial friction to the holder to temporarily prevent rotation of the holder with the output shaft in a drive condition of the machine moving the ratchet into engagement with the engaging groove, and in the drive condition the drive gear and holder rotate with the output shaft. In a freewheeling condition of the machine the output shaft is stationary, and an overdrive of the drive gear disengages the ratchet from the engaging groove allowing for free rotation of the drive gear about the stationary output shaft.

  • Patent number: 9707138
Abstract: Apparatus for a manually-powered wheelchair comprising a frame and first and second wheel rotatably coupled to the frame. Each wheel includes a hand rim and a drive wheel. For each of the first and second wheels, a multiple speed transmission coupled to the wheel comprises a transmission output coupled to the drive wheel, a transmission input coupled to the hand rim, and at least two gears selectively coupling the transmission output to the transmission input. The transmission allows the drive wheel and the hand rim to rotate concentrically with one another but at different speeds. A selector is provided for selecting one of the at least two gears. A controller controls the selector to operate the transmission for the first and/or second wheel.

  • Patent number: 7832753
Abstract: A gear shift pertaining to a hub of a wheel with a quick lock. The hub has a gear which is supported round a shaft with an outer end and an inner end. The inner end of the shaft is suspended via a suspension device on a vehicle. The quick lock includes a rod which runs in a cylindrical hole which is concentric within and with the shaft and a catch which locks the wheel with the shaft to the suspension device. The gear shift includes the shaft, the rod and a control, all so adapted that the rod has a neutral position relative to the shaft and wherein a movement, relative to the shaft, of the rod from the neutral position in a direction from the outer end of the shaft towards the inner end of the shaft disengages the catch so that the wheel together with the shaft can be locked to and released from the suspension device.
