  • Patent number: 7591757
Abstract: A shift lever device for transmission operation of a vehicle has a shift lever, a locking member, a withdrawing member and a biasing member. When force is applied to the shift lever due to transmission operation of the shift lever by a vehicle occupant, the withdrawing member is pushed, and, due to a component of force thereof, is withdrawn from a path of movement for transmission operation of the shift lever. When the locking member is set in a movement limited state due to operation of the vehicle occupant, the locking member impedes movement of the shift lever due to transmission operation. When the locking member is set in a movable state, the locking member as well is, by a torsion spring, interlocked with the withdrawing member and withdrawn from the path of movement of the shift lever.

  • Patent number: 6899213
Abstract: A brake-transmission interlock device includes a housing which is slidably positioned over the exterior surface of a solenoid. A connector member extends from the exterior surface of the housing, and at its end, is pivotally connected to a lever arm having a blocking member which maintains the shifter of an automatic transmission vehicle in the park position unless the operator simultaneously depresses the brake foot pedal. The lever arm is operably connected to the solenoid drive member, and when in the retracted position, enables the shifter to be moved along the shift gate. The housing and connector member are integrally formed to thereby decrease the number of parts necessary for manufacturing. By attaching the lever arm to the connector member extending from the housing reduces the noise associated with the pivotal movement of the lever arm and increases the precision with which the lever arm is moved to and from the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 6371271
Abstract: Disclosed is a locking apparatus for the change lever of a vehicle, which can reliably conduct an operation for preventing a change lever from being operated unless a brake pedal is depressed in a parking state. The apparatus includes a pedal-end slide pin, a lever-end slide pin, and a cable which are operatively connected to the brake pedal. A guide pin is mounted to the change lever in such a fashion that it conducts an arc movement in accordance with a hinging movement of the change lever. The guide pin is selectively engaged with the lever-end slide pin in order to prevent the change lever from being operated in a parking state unless the brake pedal is depressed. An arc-shaped engagement preventing member is operatively connected to the guide pin.

  • Patent number: 6339968
Abstract: A shift lever apparatus comprises a shift lever connected to a gearbox of a vehicle, a rod integrally moved together with the shift lever within the shift lever due to shift-operation of the lever, a detent member having a detent hole formed therein, a restricting portion formed on the detent hole, and a base member supporting the shift lever in a pivotable manner. The shift lever, by being shift-operated to a predetermined shift position, changes a shift range to a predetermined shift range which corresponds to the predetermined shift position, among a plurality of shift ranges set at the gearbox. The rod has a projection portion toward an outer side of the lever and movable with respect to the shift lever due to a releasing operation. The projection portion penetrates and enters into the detent member located opposite the projection portion along a direction in which the projection portion moves as the lever is shift-operated. The restricting portion can be avoided by a releasing operation.
