Abstract: A rotor assembly includes a torque converter including a housing forming a hydraulic chamber, a rotor for an electric motor, a rotor carrier non-rotatably connected to the rotor that is fixed to the torque converter housing, a rotor carrier flange, a spring, and a snap ring. In some embodiments, the rotor carrier includes a groove and a castellated portion, the snap ring is disposed in the groove, and the spring clamps the rotor carrier flange between the snap ring and the castellated portion.

Abstract: A powertrain module includes an input, a bulkhead supporting the input, a rotor support, a torque converter casing driveably connected to the rotor support, an electric machine including a stator supported on the bulkhead and a rotor connected to the rotor support, a clutch hub driveably connected to the input, and a clutch for alternately opening and closing a drive connection between the clutch hub and the rotor support.
Abstract: The invention relates to a modular constructed multifunctional system. According to the invention, the modular constructed multifunctional system is endowed with the following characteristics: an input (E) and an output (A); a drive element (2) in the form of a hydrodynamic element (3), comprising a drive side (6) which can be coupled in a torsion-proof manner to the input, and a driven side (7) coupled to the output and at least one primary wheel and a secondary wheel (9); a switchable coupling (5) between the input and the output; a free wheel (F) arranged between the driven side of the drive element and the output; a brake device (13) for stationary support and braking of the secondary wheel on a housing (15); the switchable coupling is embodied in the form of a running friction coupling; a drive element, a braking element and a free wheel are incorporated into a modular unit.

Abstract: A hydrokinetic torque converter for use with a transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle has a housing rotatable by the engine and containing a pump, a turbine and at least one stator as well as a rotary output device connected to the input shaft of the transmission. The pump is normally rotatable by the housing; the turbine is rotatable (a) by the fluid which is circulated by the pump or (b) by the housing in response to engagement of a lockup clutch; and the stator can be connected to the stationary case of the transmission or is rotatable by the circulating fluid. First and second hubs are non-rotatably but axially movably mounted on the output member and are respectively connectable with the turbine and the stator by suitable clutches.
