  • Patent number: 7406768
Abstract: In a one-way clutch integrated with a rolling bearing, rolling elements and sprags are arranged in an annular space between an inner race and an outer race in each of which a one-way clutch raceway surface is formed in one axial side of a rolling bearing raceway surface. The rolling elements and the sprags make contact with respective raceway surfaces and are respectively housed in circumferentially spaced pockets formed in a common cage configured by mutually engaging and integrating two annular members in an axial direction. The one-way clutch includes urging means for urging the sprags in a locking direction in the pockets. An annular flat plate portion which seals one axial end portion of the annular space between the inner race and the outer race is integrally formed in one of the two annular members constituting the cage. Respective at least one radial and axial through holes are formed in the annular member.

  • Publication number: 20040074730
Abstract: The present invention provides a one-way clutch in which spring force of tongue pieces of a spring will not be decreased, even in case where a larger tightening margin is provided between a cage and an outer race, but proper spring force can be maintained thereby to attain reliable synchronization between the outer race and the cage, and a rise of cost will not be incurred. The one-way clutch includes a cage, a spring arranged along an inner diameter side of the cage, and a sprag assembly. Each of sprag is inserted into pockets of the spring and cage, respectively. One end of the spring is overlapped with the other end at a position where the largest repulsive force is exerted from the cage. Thereby, rigidity of the spring is increased in a part of the spring corresponding to the position.

Abstract: One or more levers are carried by one of the races, each in its respective recess. The lever's fulcrum is in contact with an arc in the recess. Motion between the inner and outer races is transmitted through the lever and the arc. The transmission is essentially normal to the radial. Indexing causes the lever to tilt back and forth on its fulcrum, which brings the contact surfaces between the lever's arm and the opposite race into and out of contact. The tilt comes from the angular displacement of a pin carried by the lever's second arm. Motion change in the opposite race causes the angular displacement.
