Inward Tooth Or Lug On Friction Member Patents (Class 192/53.35)
  • Patent number: 11892063
Abstract: A compact and fast-shifting two-speed transmission for an electric drive system, such as an electric vehicle, has two synchronized dog clutches. A sliding sleeve for engaging a first and second gear is actuatable using a single actuator. A substantially load-interruption-free shifting is realized via a friction engagement in the synchronization. A drive system having such a two-speed transmission is capable of achieving at least substantially load-interruption-free shifting.

  • Patent number: 10415651
Abstract: Provided is a dog clutch mechanism that can guarantee a successful engaging operation regardless of relative rotational positions of a sleeve and a transmission gear, with a simple and inexpensive configuration. When sliding of a sleeve (20) toward a transmission gear (30) involves contact (abutting) between dog teeth (21b) of the sleeve (20) and key members (50), an engaged state is achieved so that a rotation shaft (2) and the transmission gear (30) integrally rotate, with the key members (50) retracted toward the transmission gear (30) to a retracted position against biasing force of a coil spring (55), and the dog teeth (21b) fit in keyway (51) between the plurality of key members (50). Thus, the dog clutch mechanism (1) guarantees the successful engagement with only a single engagement operation.

  • Patent number: 10106164
Abstract: A method for shifting between a low speed range and a high speed range for a two-speed transfer case in a four-wheel drive vehicle includes determining a target transmission gear ratio and a desired transfer case range based on the current vehicle speed and the initial transfer case range. The transmission is shifted to the target transmission gear ratio when it is determined that the vehicle speed is in an appropriate range. The transfer case input torque is reduced to a minimum value, and the transfer case is shifted to neutral. The method further includes adjusting the engine speed and transmission gear setting to control the transmission output shaft speed to a desired range. The transfer case is shifted from neutral to the desired transfer case range when the transmission output shaft speed is within the desired range of transmission output shaft speed.

  • Patent number: 10006495
Abstract: A reducer with a double-clutch structure includes a source power input shaft and a power output shaft. A speed reduction mechanism includes a driving device and a driven device installed on the output shaft. A first clutch device is arranged on the output shaft and is driven by the driven device thereby driving the output shaft. A second clutch device is arranged on the output shaft and is meshed with the driven device to drive the output shaft. A clutch control device operates the first clutch device and the second clutch device simultaneously to move between the engaging position and the disengaging position. The first clutch device engages earlier than the second clutch device and disengages later than the second clutch device. When the clutch control device operates the second clutch device to move axially to an engaging position from a disengaging position, the first clutch device is axially pushed to the engaging position from the disengaging position by the second clutch device.

  • Patent number: 8322243
Abstract: A transmission is disclosed having an input shaft or member, an output shaft or member, a plurality of meshing gears, a plurality of synchronizers and a reverse idler gear assembly. The reverse idler gear assembly includes an idler gear member, a synchronizer member and a retainer member. The synchronizer member has a pair of tabs that engage grooves on an idler shaft and interface with a synchronizer spring to apply a force from the synchronizer member on the retainer member and create a braking friction to slow down the idler gear assembly and the input shaft prior to meshing with the gear of the output shaft.

  • Patent number: 6926634
Abstract: A transfer case is provided for a vehicle having front and rear axles. The transfer case includes a planetary gear set with first, second and third members. The first member is continuously connected with the front axle and the second member is continuously connected with the rear axle. An input shaft is selectively connectable with the first, second or third member. The transfer case provides rear-wheel drive when the second member is connected with the input shaft, all-wheel drive when the third member is connected with the input shaft, and front-wheel drive when the first member is connected with the input shaft. It is important that the specific members of the planetary gear set be chosen so the absolute value of the torque of the third member is equal to the sum of the absolute value of the torques of the first and second members.

  • Publication number: 20020189915
Abstract: A plurality of pins couple the cones and the shift collar of a transmission auxiliary section together so that they rotate as a group. When the shift collar is moved laterally from neutral, the shift collar engages blocking surfaces on the pins and moves the corresponding cone to match the speeds of the input shaft and the corresponding gear. The invention shortens the pin lengths of the synchronizer and therefore the length of the transmission, by eliminating contact between the shift collar and the small diameters of the pins in the neutral position.
