Abstract: A torque-release coupling can be remotely reset after an over-torque condition. A threshold torque may be adjusted while the coupling is miming. A pressure of pressurized fluid adjusts a force required to release a detent mechanism that holds a torque transmitting member in engagement across an interface between moving parts.
Abstract: The invention is a torque-limited coupling element including an input and output rotatably mounted about a common rotational axis, at least one Connection which is transferred from a first position into a second position upon exceeding a settable limit torque acting between the input and the output wherein in the first position the at least one connection connects the input and the output in a rotationally fixed manner, and in the second position, the input and the output are rotatably mounted relative to one another. A displacement body is movably mounted within a chamber filled with a magnetorheological fluid with the position of the displacement body resulting from a holding force provided by the magnetorheological fluid being under influence of a magnetic field.

Abstract: A brake structure for a main shaft of a direct drive torque motor comprises a body, a direct drive torque motor, a main shaft and a brake assembly. The main shaft is provided for fixing the torque motor and the body, and the brake assembly is mounted between the body and the main shaft. An annular brake oil room of the brake assembly is positioned against the main shaft, and the brake seat subassembly has a thinner brake deformation wall formed between the annular brake oil room and the main shaft. The annular brake oil room utilizes its high pressure caused deformation to the brake deformation wall, thus achieving a braking effect by pressing the main shaft. Thereby, the present invention is easy to assemble, and not only can stop the main shaft quickly, but also has a greater locking force.
Abstract: A torque transmitter includes (a) a driver, (b) torque transmitting means for transmitting the torque generated by the driver to a follower, (c) a rotary body on the follower side, and (d) a torque reducer that reduces (or discontinues) the torque transmission when excessive torque over a threshold torque value is loaded to the rotary body on the follower side, and the torque limiter has different threshold-torque-values responsive to rotating directions of the rotary body.

Abstract: A controllable bidirectional torque limiting device for driving a machine element. The input shaft is connected to a driver and the output shaft is connected to the machine element. The clutch mode of operation provides an adjustably limited torque output which rotates the machine element; the braking mode of operation provides an adjustable braking torque capable of stopping the rotating machine element upon cessation of the torque transmission. The assembly provides driving or braking actions as required. The device comprises a rotor, circular brake pad and two spaced apart pistons. Compressed air is introduced through a port in the bearing housing and is entrapped inside the piston cylinder walls. The resultant pressure exerts a force on the piston, causing the rotor to be pressed against the brake disc in the braking mode of operation, the amount of air pressure controlling the braking force. A plurality of steel balls are positioned between a pair of discs made of resilient material.
