Mounting Feature Patents (Class 192/58.684)
  • Patent number: 10808827
Abstract: A drive unit is disclosed that includes case portions, a gasket interposed between the case portions, shafts, bearings having respective bearing races, and a bearing shim plate. One shaft includes an input oil tube which provides a fluid pathway between the bearing shim plate and a rotor of the drive unit. Interposed between bearings, and the bearing shim plate, are shims. An approach for sizing shims for use with a drive unit is also disclosed, the approach including determining the distance from a mating flange of a case portion, to different bearing races, selecting shims based on the determined distances, and attaching the bearing shim plate to the case portion with shims interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7455158
Abstract: A viscous fluid coupling device includes: a plate that divides a housing into a reservoir chamber and an operation chamber; communication holes that are provided in the plate and communicate the reservoir chamber and the operation chamber; a rotor that is disposed inside the operation chamber and fixed to one end of a drive shaft and rotates integrally with the drive shaft; a valve that is disposed in the reservoir chamber and opens and closes the communication holes, a rod that is fixed at one end to the valve and fixed at the other end to the inner circumferential side of a vortical bimetal and rotatably supported on the housing; a bimetal holder that fixes an attaching outer end formed by bending the outer circumferential side of the bimetal; and a vibration isolator that is disposed between the bimetal holder and the bimetal.

  • Patent number: 6814206
Abstract: A temperature-controlled fluid friction coupling is actuated by a flow of viscous fluid flowing into or out of shearing surface gaps disposed therein. An, the actuating pin is movable in a direction parallel to a surface of a partition. A swing-type valve lever is in contact with the actuating pin near a root end of the valve lever, and a swing end of the valve lever is arranged slidably movable while in contact with a surface of the partition having a valve opening therein. In response to a deformation of the temperature sensitive element caused by a change of air temperature, the actuating pin moves in a direction parallel to the surface of the partition, and then the swing end of the valve lever moves so as to open and close the valve opening. Thus, the fluid flow from a reservoir chamber to a torque transmitting chamber is controlled.
