  • Patent number: 10428878
Abstract: A wedge plate clutch, including: an axis of rotation; a hub; an outer ring located radially outwardly of the hub; a plurality of circumferentially aligned wedge plate segments radially disposed between the hub and the outer ring; a cage; and a dual function spring including a first plurality of resilient elements urging the cage in a first axial direction and a second plurality of resilient elements urging the plurality of circumferentially aligned wedge plate segments radially inwardly. For a disconnect mode for the wedge plate clutch, the hub and the outer ring are rotatable with respect to each other. To transition from the disconnect mode to a connect mode for the wedge plate clutch, in which the hub and the outer ring are non-rotatably connected, the cage is arranged to displace the first plurality of circumferentially aligned wedge plate segments.

Abstract: Disclosed is a high-thrust clutch-type automotive electric lock which uses a motor to sequentially rotate a primary gear connected with a clutch assembly, a secondary gear, and a worm connected to the secondary gear, so that a push rod associated with the worm is guided by the worm to move forward or backward and thereby unlocks or locks an automobile door. The clutch assembly and the motor are in a loose connection relation when the motor is not started and no counter electromotive resistance would exist when a key is used to open the automobile door. Therefore, the torque output by the motor can be highly amplified through a big gear ratio of the secondary gear to the primary gear without the problem of counter electromotive resistance.

Abstract: According to a torque converter lockup control, a lockup actuator, including a lockup solenoid, is operative responsive to an output command signal issued by a controller to adjust lockup clutch engagement force to a commanded value. The lockup clutch engagement force is a force with which the lockup clutch is engaged. The controller determines the commanded value as a function of a deviation between a current value of slip speed within the torque converter and a desired value thereof. For preventing the lockup clutch from shifting deeply into its converter position when the deviation persists to stay in the neighborhood of zero, the controller sets a limit to the determined commanded value during operation of the lockup clutch in the slip lockup mode.
